5 of us are staying one one room in the Fall for 10 days One of us is leaving on day 5. I was told I could go to the front desk to advise one person in our party was leaving. But, how does that work with tickets? If I add them to our room, I assume every person needs a ticket for each day, and although Disney will remove the extra person per day room 54rcharge, I am sure I wont be reimbursed for the lost ticket time. I thought maybe I would then go through undercover tourist for tickets and link them...this way I could buy they days I need for each of us, but then I dont see a Genie plus option. Not sure what to do? Thanks in advance for any input!

You’ll need to book a room-only reservation and buy tickets separately. WDW stopped selling Genie+ in advanced so I’m not surprised the authorized resellers like UT don’t offer it either. You buy Genie+ each morning.

You are correct, everyone on a package must have the same ticket.

You are also correct that you can no longer purchase tickets ahead of time with Genie attached.

You are correct they will not refund lost ticket time.

At this point your best option is to purchase tickets elsewhere and buy Genie day by day. That also gives you the option of deciding later not to buy it for everyone on any given day if plans change.

Are you paying any additional adult fees? Those add up over time. If you are and want to save some, I believe you can leave one person off the reservation completely and add them upon arrival for the specific days they are staying. (Everyone added up front has to be on it for the entire length of stay)

Right now we have room only reservations and are paying the extra adult fee per day for the room.

Then the ticket problem isn't an issue. Buy the ticket lengths for each person. The person who is leaving on day 5 only needs a 4 or 5 day ticket. Everyone else can have the other lengths.
When the person leaves, they can just let the front desk know.

So does it make a difference where I buy the tickets. Its sounds like I can purchase them for each person in the room for the amount of days we need. I didnt know Disney allows that, which I why I thought I had to go through UT for the tickets. Also, if I add the tickets, is is now a package? I worry we may need to cancel as the date gets closer depending on covid numbers and now monkey pox (not that concerned about either but suppose they could get worse)?? If we cancel, I supposed I am better off going through Disney so we can cancel and get a refund on tickets, rather than UT.

If you cancel and want a refund, a Disney package is the only way to accomplish that.

So I would do a package with Disney for all the people staying the full time.

Buy a ticket separately for the person with the shorter stay. That ticket will NOT be refundable.

You can't add that person to your room until they arrive.

WDW does allow purchases of varying length tickets. You may need to do all 7-day tickets as 1 purchase and a separate purchase for those of 5-days, for example. But yes you can buy whatever length ticket each person needs/wants as long as it is NOT a package.

Purchasing tickets separate does NOT create a package. Your room reservation will continue to be under the room-only PIF and cancellation policies. Your tickets will be paid in full at purchase and are non-refundable.

Generally tickets purchased separately are non-refundable. Some authorized resellers may allow for a refund (or limited refund) - check the vendor's policies before purchasing. However, fully-unused tickets retain their value towards a future ticket.
