Tickets for 2 Days

We will be visiting the theme parks for 2 days prior to our 12/24 Disney Cruise. We won't need the hopper or any other options on it - just basic theme park admission.

With the basic ticket, will be we able to come and go as we please within the same park during one day? I know we can't hop between parks, but I wasn't sure if we can leave and come back.

Also, most places I find online seem to offer 3 day tickets (or higher). I'm assuming that you can buy a single day or a 2 day ticket for admission? And will it reduce our wait to buy them in advance and pick them up at will call? Or at that point, is it just as easy to wait on line to buy them there?

If you're staying on property you can also get them as part of a package through Disney travel company. Also if you're on property and have access to DoD privileges (i.e. active duty military, reservist, retiree, DoD civilian employee, etc.) you can get length of stay type tickets through Shades of Green.

And it's my understanding that you can re-enter the same park on the same day.

If you have a non-hopping ticket you may leave and reenter the same park multiple times during a day with no effect on your ticket.

You can leave a park and return to the same park on the same day, no problem. If you plan to visit WDW again at all, your best bet for long range planning is to buy a non-expiring 10 day pass. We bought them a few years ago, and used them for 3 trips. The per-day cost goes down a lot when you purchase multi-day passes. We got ours thru Ticketmania, but others recommend Undercovertourist and Mapleleaftickets, too.
