Ticket use Arrival or Departure day?

Hello. Right now our plan is to go to the parks on arrival day. We have 7 day park hoppers and counting arrival and departure days we have 8 days. If we change our minds and decide we would rather go to a park on our departure day before an evening flight how does that work with fast passes? Do I cancel arrival days and then I can pick for departure? We might not know till we are there can I do it last minute like that? Thank you...

Yes, just make FP+ for arrival day and, if you change your mind, you can cancel for arrival day and re-schedule for departure day. Just know, there is no guarantee you will get the same FP+ on departure day that you canceled on arrival day. Also, for a very small charge, you can simply upgrade your tickets to 8-day tickets and go both days.

Just upgrade your tickets to 8 days. It's probably not more than $10 a ticket.

That's what I would do. Then you can get better FPs, since you can book them way in advance.

I am within 30 days and the package is paid off so wouldn't there be a fee if I changed ticket days now? I know I can upgrade the ticket once there for the cost difference but of course fast pass availability probably won't be that great...

Maybe.
Sometimes (sometimes) they wave the fee if you are adding to your reserved items.

Call and ask nicely.
