Does anyone know how ticket upgrading would work in these scenarios:

Is it possible to enter the park on your active base ticket, even if it is a 1 day ticket and upgrade to a multiple day ticket at the end of the day? Will they still give you credit toward your upgrade for the base ticket value? I had planned to do it in the morning at entry, but really we would like to head to WWoHP when we first get there as we are pushing it to have to check in at the hotel the same morning as well...so we would be in the park a few hours before heading to guest services to upgrade. Would like to know if this would work.

We are thinking of another trip next year in October for the Halloween festivities, but not sure about this yet (thinking I can convince DH to come back for that though) during this trip. If we waited to make the decision toward the end of this trip and upgrade multiple tickets to AP...can we upgrade the tickets again (that had already been upgrade to a multiple day ticket a day or two earlier) to AP tickets on the last day the base ticket is active (before we leave the park) and still get credit for the face value of the ticket?

TIA

Yes, both these scenarios are possible. You just have to upgrade before the day ends on the last day you are allowed to use the tickets.

use the one day ticket and do potter as you have planned.
before you leave the park, go to guest services to upgrade that one day ticket to the multi day ticket pass.

if you plan to eventually upgrade the tickets to the AP/preferred, do it at the beginning of your trip.
you will reap the benefits of the perks from the start of your time at the parks.
discounts on food, merch, additional ticket purchases, etc.

you would get the face value of the tickets towards the purchase of the ap.
