Ticket Upgrade Question

In May I will be going to WDW on a trip that I won. It included a small credit towards tickets from the Orlando Visitor Center. Basically, the credit covered the cost of 1 adult ticket, and we bought an additional adult ticket and 2 children's tickets (all 3 day hoppers). My DD and I will be going back in October with my mom and my niece. Can I exchange our two tickets for a credit toward APs for the two of us (the other two tickets are for my friend and her daughter, who do not need APs)? If I understand correctly, the tickets are coded somehow with the discounted price, so that is what we get for a credit, correct? What about the one ticket that ended up being free - will this still be coded with the Visitor's Center discount rates?

And if I can use these toward the cost of APs - do I have to wait until we arrive to do so? Is there any way to do this in advance? Or to at least find out in advance what the credit will be? Based on the discounted price, it looks like it will only save us about $35 total vs. keeping the 3 day passes and buying new 7 days passes in October, but I can't help but think that if we have the APs maybe we can sqeeze in another trip next winter/early spring if I find good airfare!

I think you have things about right... You will have to wait until you get there to make the upgrade and for them to figure out how much of the tickets are going towards the ap etc. I am not sure what they will do in the case of the free ticket though. Are you staying onsite??? If you are the AP could be worth it alone just for the discounted hotel room rates.

Actually, now that I think about it, the free ticket shouldn't matter, because I only want to upgrade two of the tickets anyway (1 adult & 1 child) so if they are coded differently, I can just apply the other ticket for the credit.

We are staying onsite in October, but we're renting points from a DVC member, so we won't benefit from any room discounts for that trip. But, room discounts could give me even more ability to justify another trip in early 2007!
