A group of 6 of us are going out to Disneyland this fall. Four of us are going to Magic Mountain one day leaving my husband and mother in law behind. Another day my husband and I are going to a studio tour leaving my sister in law, her kids and my mother in law behind. So I will need a 4 day ticket as I am "away" 2 days, hubby, sister in law and the kids will all need 5 day tickets. But my mother in law will need 6 days as she is not going on any outings and will want to go to the parks with her son the day he is left behind and her daughter and grand kids the day they are left behind. So my first question is how do I get her a 6 day ticket? I was going to purchase all the tickets thru work because I can get a discount but no one offers a 6 day ticket. If I buy the mother in law a 5 day ticket can I upgrade her to 6 at the gate? Or do we have to buy her ticket direct from Disney? Next my husband and I are renting a car to do these day trips but you can not fit 6 people in it and to rent a minivan is over double the money. What is the best way to get from LAX to Grand Californian & back to LAX a week later? Will probably be 2 adults and a 10 yr old and some luggage. TIA

Unfortunately DL no longer offers tickets over 5 days. So your only option is a 5 day and a single day ticket unless another trip is planned in the next year where you could run the numbers for an AP to see if it was cost effective. As for transportation I'm not really sure as we always fly into SNA in which case I'd recommend Uber.

We used the Grayline Disneyland express bus from LAX. It's $48 per adult return and the 10 yr old is free. It was quick, easy and stress free.

The prior posters explained it well.

There is no way to upgrade the ticket to a 6-day ticket. Depending on when you are going, however, if it's the day of a Halloween party, buy one of those tickets (it's cheaper than a 1-day, 1 park ticket). You can't enter the parks until 2 or 4 pm, but just relax in the morning and lounge around the pool.

As far as transportation, I suggest using the bus (Grayline Express) as one of the other posters said. You might be able to find a coupon on the Anaheim Visitor's Center/Bureau for $5-10 off per person too.

Promo code is AOC (to get up to $10 off per person, round trip).

However, with 6 people (4 adults, 2 children, you might consider getting a private shuttle. It might be cheaper (I was looking at the Anaheim Visitor's Center and a link to Karmel shuttle popped up)

Thank you all for your responses. Bummer about the 6 day ticket. I will suggest Grayline to them and we will look into the promo codes.
