I went back through and read about ticket purchases. I understand that we have 4 options:

1) stay at a Universal hotel for early entry and unlimited front of the line riding
2) stay offsite and use a regular ticket with no perks
3) stay offsite and buy an express ticket for 1 front of the line ride on each ride AND
4) stay offsite and buy an unlimited express ticket for unlimited front of the line rides...

We are going the week of July 7th. We have to stay offsite.

What would you guys, the experienced, recommend we do to maximize our fun! Is it imperative that we do the unlimited express ticket?

Thanks!

Since you have to stay offsite, about the only option would be purchasing Express Plus passes to keep wait times reasonable. I don't know if I'd buy the unlimited EPs but you'll have to see what kind of budget you have. Both parks will be very busy and since you're visiting in July, the weather will be very hot and humid. Tranformers at the Studios should be open by then so longer lines should be expected.

You might want to compare the cost of the unlimited EP add on and one night onsite to see if you can make it work. Everyone in the room will have unlimited EP for two days. Just a thought.
