Hoping someone knows the answer to this - I have several one day & 2 day passes that have never been used. I got them back when I had an AP but you had to get at least a one day ticket to get the free dining promo (circa 2008-2012). My question is can I combine them in any way? If i use a 2 day once then bridge & upgrade to a 4 day hopper can I use any of the one day passes as well? Hopefully this question makes sense to someone! Lol - thank you :)

My understanding is that you cannot combine tickets to apply the costs to another ticket.

As stated you can not combine tickets to make one longer ticket but you can upgrade any one of those individual tickets into something longer. Example, a 1 day ticket upgrade to a 4 day. Best way to do it is to enter any park with that ticket first, which will lock it in at current gate price, then do the upgrade.

Yes you can but using more than one physical ticket for a trip generally costs more than just adding another day to that other upgraded ticket.*

If you posted exactly what you plan to do you will get better advice.

*ETA Its doesn't really cost more but you lose the full value of the one day ticket.

.
I was also thinking that but since the tickets have already been purchased(and not being used for the last 3-5 yrs) it actually costs more to upgrade....the unused tickets are money wasted. Does that make sense? I think I would be inclined to just use the tickets as is...ie: going to the parks for 3 days total, use a 1 day ticket and a 2 day ticket.

Under those conditions (and they are rather unique,) that can be just fine and not really much of a net loss.

It is not money wasted, because what you would do is enter the park, then go to guest relations and ask them to bridge the ticket into whatever ticket you need for your current trip. They will credit the current value of the ticket, regardless of what you paid for it, towards whatever media you are upgrading to. As a PP mentioned, if we knew your vacation plans- you would get better advice. If you are only going for a short time, as Robo said, your net loss might not be worth the trouble in the time and hassle of going into guest relations.

Yes per Robo's post its not that big of a deal in this situation, but if you say had a 4 day ticket and instead of just adding a day you used another regular one day ticket you would lose around (haven't kept up on ticket prices) $85 of value.

Adding a day to a four day ticket is around $15, a one day ticket is what around $100 now :scared1: so you wasted the difference. It would almost be like handing them a $100 gift card for a $15 purchase and telling them to keep the change.

Oh and the the unused tickets are not money wasted, it would called a sunk cost they have value.

Thanks all - I think what I may end up doing is upgrading the 2 day ticket to a hopper so we can hop the one day we're really most interested in doing so, then just use the one day tickets for the remaining days. Doesn't make sense to pay for additional days when we have several one day tickets doing nothing in a drawer. We're going to the parks for a total of 4 days...but there's one day we'd really like to go hop (AK in am & Epcot in pm).

Is this your last trip to WDW?

Just realize that those one day tickets can also be upgraded to multi day tickets and you will get the current full value of the ticket. If you use 2 one day tickets you lose about $90 of value per person.

But I know, to you those tickets are just little pieces of plastic and the $113 per ticket to add 2 days to a 2 day ticket is real cash money.

I totally agree....I would not use a 1 day ticket over adding 1 day to a four day. Financially that makes no sense at all when the out of pocket would be only a few dollars. I guess I was trying to say that it makes no sense(to me anyway) to spend a couple of hundred to upgrade a 1 day ticket when you have enough tickets sitting around to cover what you need.

I realize they are not wasted in the sense that they can't ever be used. To me it's a waste of money to buy something that you don't use then buy more of the same thing.

Some days I can't get the stuff in my head to come out in a way that can be understood  I'm still not sure that I explained myself very well.

No not my last trip...but financially at the current moment...that little ole piece of plastic is making this trip possible! I fully understand the amount of money I'm "wasting" but to me those are like free tickets since I didn't pay for them today. It's messed up logic I agree...but it's my logic.

I think I have that same logic.

You know while you are at it you can use a one day to park hop. You are trading $100 for a $50 value. You just have to keep track of "tickets" in MDE.
