I have looked, but I haven't found an answer.

We have a package with tickets starting on May 1. They will be linked to our magic bands. We are arriving 5 days early on April 26 before a cruise. Is it possible to use a day of our tickets on our arrival day? If it is possible, would we need to do anything to activate them?

Thanks!

1. Yes

2. Nope.

If your tickets are part of a package, as in they are included with your room reservation you have to go to guest relations to do early ticket pick up.

If you purchased tickets separately or from elsewhere and then linked them you are good to go.

Why would there be a need to do that with MagicBands?

There is no need to ever pick up package tickets anymore, as actual tickets are no longer issued.

Once you have tickets linked to your MagicBands, from many reports on the board, the tickets (MagicBands) are ready for use.

This. Except you can't use your MB to get past the resort gate until you've used it to open your resort room door. But the guard will let you in when they scan it since they can see your reservation.

Why then would guest relations have an entire process for early ticket pick up? We have to go into the reservation and activate the tickets. There's even a separate process if the guest doesn't have Magicbands which happens when they are shipped to the resort.

When and from whom did you get this information?

(I'm not trying to argue, I really want to know how and when you got the info.)

No worries. I am a Guest Relations CM. This early ticket process has just been updated, it is the same as before just some additional buttons to click.

Tickets booked as part of a package are considered a package component and just like before if you wanted to use your tickets before check in you had to do an early ticket pick up.

If the tickets are purchased separate from the package and you link them to the bands via MDE (actual ticket or the will call) you can just use the bands whenever. Just like as before when you would have had your tickets in hand. The only exception here would be certificates for APs, FL Res or Military. Those still need to be taken to GR for ID and activation.

So is the early ticket pickup (well, really activating the ticket on your account so it works on your MB for park entry right?) still limited to 3 days early? I have reservations in August: a 2 day RO (hoping for a discount) tied to a 3 day RO (used a PIN discount which couldn't start until 8/17) tied to a 5 day FD (booked on a bounceback, but earliest date was 8/20 and we need to arrive earlier due to DIL teaching schedule here in NY). At this moment we have 8 day hoppers as part of the FD package which we plan to pick-up on 8/17 if 3 day rule still applies. But if we could get them earlier, we could do 10 day hoppers and activate on our first day, 8/15. So does the 3 day rule still apply?:confused3:confused3

Anyone? Is the 3 day early pickup rule still in effect or does the number of days matter anymore? See my last post for question :confused3 Thanks

I asked around and I believe there is no hard and fast rule. The issue is that your reservation has to be downloaded into the system. You should be able to pick them up 5 days early. However it might depend on who you speak with. If it is possible I would purchase the lesser amount and then show up the 5 days early. If they allow you pick them up you can then upgrade and add those additional days. It will cost you the same.

Okay so I am confused and a little frustrated. We haven't stayed on grounds for years but doing a split off/on this summer. First three nights off then four on. I booked a package for on grounds paid the deposit. Personalized my bands then thought "oh will I be able to use my magicbands for the first three days or will they send me cards too so we can use our tickets those days"......so I did the online help thing. He said that he couldn't answer that I needed to call. When I called and asked my question they told me that since my tickets (7 day tickets) were a part of a package, the first day the could be used was our check in day. I said that my seven day ticket was longer than my reservation and that I thought the stipulation was that they had to be used within 14 days of first use and that they would be. They went to a manager and came back saying that my 14 days could only be started when I checked in and my three extra ticket days could only be used after my stay. SO........we cancelled our tickets because I couldn't change the order of our stay. (Off site to on site) She kept it as a RO package. Now I am understanding that I was given incorrect info???? We haven't bought tickets yet which will now be more. This fiasco was the day prior to their ticket price increase. Help me understand.
