Our situation is this. My family of 4 as well as my brother n law, who is a florida resident, are going down during free dining this fall. My family of 4 are going down for 9 days. My brother n law will only be able to be down for 4 days. When I made the ressies, the CM I spoke with said that we all had to have the same tickets. So since my family of 4 needed 9 day park hoppers I got us all 9 day park hoppers. I posted this situation either on here or on TGM forum (can't remember) and many suggested to get one day tickets for all of us and then upgrade them upon arrival. But from what I understand we will have to pay gate prices for the upgrade? Is that the case? I was also thinking though. If I purchased us all 9 day park hoppers and then my brother n law upon arrival upgraded his to a non-expiry, could we then use the remainder of his days for our next vacation? I didn't know how the fingerprinting would work. If we could use his ticket for one of us on our next vacation?! Thanks for any advice!!

Once your brother uses that ticket it's non-transferrable. Since he's only going for a few day, have him purchase a Florida Resident ticket. You can then keep the 9-day ticket for later use, it won't expire as long as you never activate it.
