Ticket question with Universal Express

I've been playing with different options for tickets. This is a very last minute trip.

I keep going between buying the 3 day unlimited versus 2 day single passes with Universal Express.

3-day park 2 park = $290 (rounding up)
2-day singles with express = $282 (non-peak)

Am I wrong to think we will "cover more ground" with two days of express pass and only one park per day versus going three days and waiting in the regular line?

I have a feeling my wife will want to do everything at Harry Potter twice, fine by me. Only worth mentioning since the main attraction there doesn't have an express line.

There is also the 2-day VIP for $440. I just don't see us being disappointed being "stuck" at one park all day. We go to six flags Great America for the same duration and don't get bored.

We also have four days of Disney already purchased.

Depending on when you're going, you may not need to purchase Express Plus passes. If you decide against the VIP tickets, wait until you arrive to purchase the EP as the lines might be reasonable. You say it's a last minute trip so I'm assuming you're going this week or next. I doubt you would need the EP this week.

Yup - next week.

When I saw we were traveling during "non-peak" I questioned if they were really needed. Good to know, more $$$ saved :)

I've planned a lot of vacations, buying tickets for theme parks has proven to be the most daunting task so far!!!

We finally decided the extra money for park hopper's at WDW would be a waste on us too. I think we saved enough cash buying only single day tickets to pay for the rental car.

Thanks - this forum has been awesome!!

Hopefully the last question.

Is it worth buying the 2-day "park to park" just for the coupon book?
$40 difference with two tickets.
