In this report Mousesavers recommends buying regular tickets now if you're planning a trip to Disneyworld. Based upon that advice, is it safe to assume that Disneyworld will honor tickets purchased under current rules: no tiering and no expiration date until after first use?

Yes WDW would honor any tickets purchased under the rules that they were purchased in but I believe that the tickets would expire 14 days after the first use under the current rules.
I hope that if they start making Disney World tickets have an expiration date that they will still honor old tickets without one for future use! I have a few stockpiled and I would hate to think they might become worthless if not used by a certain date.
I went to the site for disneyland tickets that mousesavers recommended. The five day hopper I checked(adult $297 including tax) expires Jan 13, 2016! Not going till May so that doesn't help me at all. I wonder when the switch to a further out date will come. Frustrating. Also wonder if that date is valid from all disneyland ticket sellers, including Disney itself. That only gives two months worth of use before expiring. Argh.

Disneyland tickets have had an expiration date for a long time.
Tickets on the Disneyland website say:
One-day tickets are valid now through December 31, 2016.
The first day of use of multi-day tickets must be on or before December 31, 2016. Multi-day tickets must be used within 13 days of first use or by January 13, 2017, whichever occurs first.
This conjecture is why I bought our passes much sooner than I'd originally planned. A previous poster just reminded me that I need to get our Uni passes soon too since so often if one company does something the other follows suit.
