I was told that a 4 day hopper pass is about $215. Can those in the military get discounts? If so--how and where? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are military, check with your recreation center or equivelant on base if you wish to purchase ahead of time.

My family has AP's that we will be using, but we are taking DH's sister and her family with us. They are in the Coast Guard and I thought that we could save some money by getting their passes through the military. But they know nothing about where to go or what to do and neither do I! I will tell him to check with the MWR (what is that?) or the recreation center. I tried to go to the site above, but it would not let me get the attraction prices page. Thanks to all of you posting. I really appeciate your time and info. You are helping to make some people very happy!

My parents were navy and it was the rec center or something like that...it is a place that sells tickets and such kind of like a AAA office or something. They can probably ask around or something.

The MWR office is like the rec office. Most bases have them and they generally sell attraction tickets to many things such as Disney or local stuff to that installation like ballgames (Football and/or Baseball) Ours is also a rental office for things we have avalible to rent. Most Military know what a MWR office is.

OFten they have to orde the tickets and its generally less than 2 weeks to get almost anything. Its kind of nice to order ahead of time so you dont have to find the shades of green and ticket office (Which always seems to have lones too) Unless they are staying at Shades I would defintly go ahead of time to get the tickets.

Our local office in Washignton has Disneyland on hand and has to order Disneyworld but we get them in a week normally.

I passed on the info to our Coast Guard member. I am waiting to hear from him. We also have a brother that is retired airforce. Could he get tickets for me even though he will not be with us at the parks? The tickets would be used by his sister, niece, and nephew. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for the info. Those prices are the best I have seen for 4 or 5 day hoppers. We are planning a BIG family gathering in May and we have AP's, but we have active and retired military who would benefit from the discounts.

My husband is retired AF and he bought tickets for us and all his family at the Shades of Green on our last trip. They only need to see one military id. Your sister in law should have a military id since her husband is in the Coast Guard. She is eligible to buy the tickets also. It doesn't have to be the military member. If She doesn't have a military base close to them, it might be easier for your retired AF brother to buy them for everyone. Since she is eligible for the military tickets, it would be permissible for him to give her the tickets.

It is very easy to buy the tickets at the Shades of Green on property. Where are you staying? Someone on this boards can tell you how to get there.

To view the document on the above link, you have to have excel installed on your computer.

Thanks for answering. If I am understanding this correctly, then a military person can buy passes for non-military family members? I think it would be easier to get the tickets ahead of time because the Coast Guard people will not land until 7 pm and we want to hit early entry the next morning. I am afraid it will be too late for them to get to Shades of Green that night. We are all staying at Pop Century. We will arrive early in the day, but none of us are military. The retired airforce person is a brother of my husband and his sister. I was just thinking it might be easier for him to get the tickets as he goes to base more often. The Coast Guard people don't go to base often. (They are the sister-in-law's daughter and her husband) I hope this is not too confusing. My husband and are are taking his sister and her family on this little trip and saving money anywhere possible is appreciated by all.

Thanks

My husband is a worker at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Maine and we just got our tickets from our MWR(morale, welfare and recreation). We bought 5-day Disney hopper passes for $228 per adult, 1 day Universal Studios for $48. per adult and 1 day Seaworld for $45. per adult for a grand total of $1605. taxes included. It took a week to receive our tickets. The military or DOD person can buy as many tickets as they want. :thewave:

Thanks so much. If the Coast Guard member is unable to get the tickets (off on the boat thingie) then I will ask DH 's brother to get the tickets. I really appreciate the answers to all my questions.
