Hi All!
I usually post on the DVC boards but I have a question that you may be able to help with. My DMIL says that she ran into someone the other day, just back from Disney who had this experience..... If you walk up to a ticket booth in WDW and you are in a scooter or wheelchair you and your entire party get park tickets half off??? I say that there is no way this is true. But she insists that this person just did this.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

First I've heard of it.

I can see the Make a Wish People getting a discount, but not just anyone who shows up at the ticket booth on a scooter.

If this was in effect it would very qiuckly become common knowledge.

I am not sure if this would be fair to everyone else. If the disabilled person had finacial problems, maybe for them, but certiantly not the entire party.,:confused3

I can only imagine the amount of wheelchairs and ecvs that would be in the park if this were true. But no, Disney does not offer a discount for those in a wheelchair or ecv. Seaworld does, so maybe that was the confusion.:confused3

I didn't think this sounded Kosher. I am a self proclaimed Disney expert and I never heard of such a thing.

If it were true can you imagine how many people would rent a scooter off site and show up with 10 people to get half off all the tickets? CRAZY! When my husband first asked me his words were "At Disney have you ever heard of half off tickets....." Before he even finished I said no. I know they don't offer such things.

Thanks guys!

Think she got the wrong park. Disney doesn't give discounts to the handicapped.

Sorry, no discounts at all--not even to Make a Wish kids. They get their tickets through their organization that sponsors them.

As the other posters said, no, WDW does not.
We've been coming to WDW with our DD who uses a wheelchair since she was 3 - if they gave discounts, they would have offered us one by now.

Sea World does give discounts, but even there it is not the whole party. It is the guest who is disabled and one 'attendant' for that guest. So, not a party of 10.

At the Disney Park ticket window I am often asked this by people who appear older than I am. My (and the official) answer is that we do not give discounted tickets as there is more to the Park than just rides, and also that there is no way one they are inside the Park that they can be restricted from going on or into any attraction.

I am in an ECV. I pay FULL PRICE for my tickets, and those who are with me pay full price also.

Why do people make things up? Perhaps it's to get others upset that they didn't get the deal that someone else got. :confused3

Read ANY book - go on the internet sites - THERE ARE NO HALF PRICE TICKETS TO DISNEY FOR DISABLED PEOPLE. :rolleyes1
