Every January our family (2 adults and 2 kids) goes to WDW because DH has a conference. We usually spend 4 days in the parks. In October DH and I purchased 7 PHP from Hotwire and used 2 of the days for a quick weekend trip, so we have 5 days left and 4 plusses. We had planned to purchase the same type of tickets for our two kids, and this January use 4 days, which would leave the kids with 3 days and DH and I with one each. The following January we would use 3 days for WDW (DH and I would buy 2 day conference tickets) and then hit Universal for a couple days.
Well, MYW tickets were announced. I was hoping DH and I could trade in the remainder of our passes on 7 day non-expiring non-hopping passes and buy the same for our kids (yes, I know I would probably take a loss). It would have been a great idea, as it is less expensive and wed rather go more days and not hop than fewer days and hop, but it appears Disney wont let us do that.
Im trying to decide if:
1. We buy the kids 5 day hopper passes for $202.36 each.
2. We buy the kids 10 day non-expiring hopper passes for $321.64 and use 5 days this year and 5 days next year (DH and I would buy 10 day non-expiring hoppers the following year. That way we would only be buying 2 tickets each year as opposed to 4.)
3. The same as #2 but buy the premium hoppers for the plusses. I think wed use the plusses, but DH thinks we wont.
4. Buy 4 7 day base tickets when we get there and try to sell our old tickets on E-bay (Ive never done e-bay, not sure you can even sell partially used tickets).
On paper the 10 day passes look like the best deal, however I hate to spend that kind of $$$ right now!
Thanks for your help!
