i know many of us girls have thyroid issues. whenever there is a thyroid thread so many people post their experiences. but i know so few men with thyroid problems and the few i do know had thyroid cancer.
anyway, my dh's primary sent dh for an ultrasound because his thyroid is enlarged, you can see how swollen it is on his neck. his TSH was fine, i don't know if they did T3's-T4's etc.
so, his u/s was today and right after we called our cousin who is a radiologist at the neighboring hospital to let him know that we were having the report faxed to him as well as the primary.
no need, cousin was able to get right on the computer and see the u/s results and called us right back.
dh has "multiple nodules, some bigger then 2.5 cm's" and cousin wants him to get a needle biopsy.
i've suggested to DH that he see an endocrinologist for this, and because we're on a ppo it isn't a problem.
even though i've been dealing with my own thyroid issues for years, including my own nodules and biopsy, this is still freaking me out a bit because i know it isn't as prevalent in men.
any words of wisdom for me??
