Thunder day/night

Our family normally is so tired by 3-4 o'clock that we never get to see Disney at night, last week we stayed past dark, and OMG it was soooooo pretty BUT the big thing that shocked me was when we went on Thunder it felt like a completely different ride.
Anyone else feel like this ride takes on a new life in the dark?

I totally agree with you and I love to be in the parks at night although we normally are somewhere else eatting etc and dont spend much time but when we do we love it.

I agree! I love the parks at night. One of the best rides we had on Thunder Mountain was at night with a thunderstorm approaching. We were the last train to run before they shut down for the storm. AWESOME ride that time.

BTM is totally different at night. feels like you are going so much faster. the view of the castle at night is just spectacular. for a real treat - try to time a night-time ride on BTM during the fireworks. just amazing!

Not only Thunder, but the whole park(s) feel different at night... EPCOT being my favorite (as if I need to say explain why Illuminations... )

We always made a trip back to the resort in the afternoon to go in the pool and recharge in order to have the stamina to go back to the parks at night.
I found that alot of the rides seemed like totally different rides at night.
It was great! Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad made me scream even harder at night because you couldn't see where you were going to know what to expect, all of a sudden you were being whipped around a corner. What I really loved was how gorgeous everything was all lit up.

I totally agree! On our last trip, we rode it about 10x at night b/c it was so much fun! A completely different ride at night...you do feel like you are going so much faster! It is GREAT!
