I heard that the thrill rides are a lot better at Universal than Disney, which is why all the teens are going to Universal than Disney world? Is that true?

It kind of depends on what you consider a thrill ride. I'm used to Six Flags so I don't really think either WDW or Uni is that great for thrill rides. But I typically don't count simulators as thrill rides. i think they both have a few good thrill rides. A couple more at Uni maybe. I think it's maybe more appealing to teens because the other rides and themed areas (other than Suess Landing) are geared toward a little bit older crowd (Marvel and Jurassic Park, etc). Many of the themes and secondary rides at Disney are aimed more at kids.

Better than Disney, for sure. But Seaworld also has some good coasters. The in park vibe skews older at Universal, which could be appreciated by teens. Not a bunch of little kids under foot. :)

Hi I think Universal is known for more thrill rides is really due to Hulk, Mummy and Rip Ride Rocket. The two outdoor coasters there are high thrill. I agree with pp about the themed areas with the rides it comes across older feeling. There is more teens with families than little kids.

I am sure they will enjoy the trip!

I agree the overall target age is higher....and part of that is more rollercoasters (I'm missing the dragons, though :-()
Also, MANY fewer little kids and strollers at Universal compared to Disney.
