Thrifty wild car

anyone rent this class. I have one reserved for Oct for 10 days.

I was wondering what class most have received. I believe it says a full size( maybe it reads intermediate ) can't remember or larger, there are only three of us and we usually just rent a compact or economy, I was curious if we would get a ' funner' car according to my daughter. I just hope we do not get a mini van, I would refuse it if we did, I will never drive a mini van ( just a personal preference ) plus we do not need it for three people.

I never saw this option on Thrifty's web site....where did you find it and how was the rate?

when i put in our dates of oct 5 - 14th it was one of the classes that you can pick. I also believe that I saw a small advertisment for it on the main page of Thrifty. We basically are using it like a gamble hoping we will get a better car than what we usually rent. It was only a few dollars more than to reserve a compact or economy.

You always win with one low rate for a Mid-size or larger vehicle from Thrifty. Book at a lower rate than a Mid-size and you'll be guaranteed a great rental with room for at least five passengers and two pieces of luggage. The location will select the vehicle for you at time of pickup.

* Rates lower than a Mid-Size
* Mid-Size or larger vehicle, guaranteed
* Pickup location determines vehicle at time of pick up
* Vehicle will have at least 5 seatbelts
* Room for 2 pieces of luggage or more
* Low-mileage, new-model vehicle

Basically, it's like booking a mid-size. I would guess that they just treat it like you have an upgrade coupon, and if there's something they know they won't get rid of on the lot, they'll give it to you. I'd check the Emerald Aisle thread to see what kinds of cars MCO rental companies can't "get rid of."

Sounds like a good deal to me...since you are guarenteed at least a midsize...I use Dollar at MCO fairly often (because they are cheap, not from any big love affair with Dollar) and I joined Dollar express just to bypass the line at the counter and every time I have reserved a compact car they have given me something MUCH bigger (Dodge Durango 3 times, minivan once or twice and SUV;s of assorted types at other times)...now all I ever reserve with them is a compact...if they ever really give me what I reserve I may be sorry!
