three reservations for one stay (at one resort)

I rented points, which I've done before, but this is the first time I've had three reservations because apparently it was booked from three different contacts. I've been assured by the owner that this is all fine and I'm not going to have to check in/out, but MDE does show "check in later 4 PM" and "check out by 11 AM" on each of the days that the separate reservations begin/end. This is very odd. And will I be able to book dining for my entire stay or am I going to have to book dining three separate times?

As long as the owner has called member services, the 3 reservations will be linked and you will not have to check out/in or change rooms. It will act as one reservation.

Us members with multiple contracts at different resorts or use years do it all the time.

When you check in, be sure to mention the 3 reservations and have them confirm you are in the same unit. Good luck, and have a great trip.

3 different contracts or 3 different memberships? If it's 3 contracts within the same membership then the owner should be able to ask MS to combine the reservations into a single one. At the very least they should confirm for you that they have linked them. I wouldn't necessarily refer to this is a "all is fine" reservation. Theoretically you could be asked to move.

3 different contracts or 3 different memberships?

He specifically called them "contracts."

His message to me says, "In the past when we have stayed on property and we had separate reservations or added a day, we just made it clear at check in or visited the front desk so they were aware that we did not want to have to check out and back in...you should not have any issues, at check in I would mention this as sometimes cast members are not aware...when I booked your reservation unfortunately I was unable to book as one whole reservation and I had to use two separate contracts to book, this should not pose an issue as per the cast member I spoke with at member services."

Will this cause any issues with my 180 day dining? I don't have any crazy dining reservations I need so I'm not super worried about that. Just wondering if I need to make sure to catch the dining window on each day.

Oh, and he also in another message specifically said that the reservations had been "linked." So I guess that sounds like things are on the up and up. I've just never heard of this before. :)

On the day you check in, do a real check in at the front desk (don't just rely on online check in) and ask if you are blocked into the same villa for the entire stay. You may have to check out and check in for each reservation, but hopefully you won't have to move.

it WILL cause problems with 180 day dining to where you'll have three different booking windows (or you can wait until 177 days out and do it all at once). I know member services can override the 180 day thing for the linked stays for members -- but not sure if they will do it for someone renting points. I personally wouldn't ask the owner of the points to call in to do it for me, as that is a lot of extra work.

it will NOT cause issues with FP booking.

Okay, thanks for clarifying! I might just wait to book anyway. I'm in an all weekend training when my 180 opens up for the first one and getting up extra early to book dining doesn't sound like a fun way to start my all-day intensive training. Maybe if I have a break during those days, I can see if anything I want is quick and easy to reserve. This trip is a little funky and I'm likely going to have to rework a lot of it anyway because we are going over President's Day weekend for my daughter to be in a gymnastics meet and we won't even know which day she's competing until December. Like I said, I don't think anything on my list is particularly high demand and at this point, I'm pretty flexible on times and I'm also okay to move stuff around (i.e. if I can't get Sci-Fi Dine-in one day, but I can get it another day, I'll just switch it with 50's Prime Time or Mama Melrose). We're APs and we're going in November, February and March so we have other shots at this.

I have two different contracts that I use and just completed my vacation using both plus an added night on cash. In the past I have had to do a quick check in/out at the front desk but this year I was told I did not have to do that as long as my reservations were all entered on MDE. I checked at the front desk on the first day of my stay, was in the same room, and did not even have to visit the front desk between my DVC stay and my cash reservation.
