I just got a three minute voice mail from someone at the Walt Disney Co. executive offices. It made me nervous when I heard the phone number with a trip coming up in nine days, but she was calling in response to a letter I had written about my August trip to Disney World.
I wound up sending them a three page letter about my experiences at Disney World, sending lots of compliments and a little bit of criticism. The woman said that she has never seen a letter so thoughtfully organized as the one I sent (everything was sectioned off into neat little paragraphs).
She told me that she was glad to see me mention so many cast members by name. She said that they will be notified of my comments, be giving a certificate, and the letter will go into their personnel file.
In my letter I wrote that one of my biggest problems on my trip was the bus transportation from the Beach Club and the Polynesian. I wrote that it was frustrating to be paying top dollar for a resort, only to have to stand on the buses because they make too many stops, or have a bus be so full that you can't even get on it (as happened one evening on the way to Downtown Disney). She said that they appreciate the feedback on the bus service, and that they consider it when they are looking to improve things. I certainly hope that's true, because both of these resorts are on bus routes with too many other resorts.
Anyways, it was an interesting voicemail, and I'm planning on calling her back tomorrow to discuss it further.
