THREE for the Price of One -Farewell to a PTR, for now!

Hey Everyone! We made it safely to MIL's about an hour ago! The boys are happy to be watching the Disney channel and not having to move! I'm doing as much laundry as I can to have clothes to wear this weekend. Tried to pack less, knowing we could wash here and re-wear but totally didn't think about the fact that clothes get so much dirtier in the summertime than winter. Trying to get everything washed as fast as possible so nothing sours or mildews! EW!

WE had a GREAT trip though!!!! OMG! So much fun and totally changed my perspective about what fun at Disney means. You'll have to read the TR to find out more details.

I will share with y'all the TR title though. There were quite a few contenders, which I'll share as the TR unfolds but the winner is

"Is this when they bring out the Mickey Mouse Cattle Prods?!" August Poly TR

:lmao::lmao:

I'll come back and post a link to the TR once I get it started officially. Sometime next week most likely. I have lots to share. I took a ton of TR notes on my phone most every night and took nearly 500 pics in 4 days! Can't wait to relive it all with you guys!! I probably will be sharing some of the JAX portion of our trip, though not as much or in as much detail. Not thinking y'all wanna hear about our in-law visit! :rotfl: Mainly will be posting pics if we get any good ones at the beach or sight seeing etc.

Catch y'all next week! Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Sounds good gellybean! Standing by until we hear from you next week! :cool2:

Oh goodness....that title....:rotfl2: This is gonna be GOOD! :lmao:

I'm so glad to hear you had a great trip!!

Home, for real!!! Got a lot to do today, unpacking laundry etc. You all know how it is. But I hope to get started on the TR tonight, latest tomorrow!! Would like to get this one done soon-ish so I can focus on planning December. There are still grumblings of potentially cancelling the trip from my sister and mother. Drives me nuts but all I can do it move forward and hope they can go. IF they don't go, I don't know what I'll do. Because I reaaaaaaaaaaaaally wanna go at Christmas and I really want to go before Jack Jack turns 3. So keep an eye on this PTR for updates about Christmas as they come. As soon as I start the TR I'll post a link here!

My mom and I were talking and she was worried about black out dates for Christmas, something she saw in the Mickey Monitor... so I was explaining that her type of AP doesn't have blackouts and somehow in all of that coversation we got to checking airfares again and times and schedules etc. The non stop flight she and I and the boys are taking out Tuesday the 14th was on sale for $89 one way today... and Mom told me to go ahead and book it. So I'm guessing that means she's on board for going at Christmas.

So I went ahead and booked my one way at $89 dollars, it jumped to $119 for the boys fares... only one ticket left on sale at $89 dollars. So I booked them seperately. I have all kinds of confirmation numbers :lmao: but I don't care.

Booked mom's rapid rewards voucher flight and boy am I glad we went ahead and did it today. There was only one flight left with availablity for a voucher flight. And it wasn't the flight we were going to take back... but we took it. I checked the day before and the day after and they were all full on those days. So I was verrrrrrrrrrrrry happy there was a flight left on the day we were planning on coming home... which is Monday the 20th... we bumped it back a night.

My sister still isn't sure when she can leave... Mom and I and the boys are leaving Tuesday the 14th, taking Dash out of school 3 days. But my sister has a new boss and doesn't want to ask for time off yet, which I understand. But she went ahead and booked her one way flight back to ensure that she'll be on the same flight with us home.

I called Disney after we booked the flights and applied the new general discount or the Pin code I had, I have no idea what the CM used, same rate though and reworked the reservation to a woods view bunk bed room for 6 nights. We had two separate ressies, one for the 14-17 and one for the 18-21, and we'd have to switch rooms because they were two separate views.

We lost our courtyard view but the bunk beds will be nice since it'll be 5 of us in 1 room. I told my soon to be 50 year old sister I'd give her a boost to the top bunk. :rotfl2:

We got one of the deposits back since we no longer need two reservations. I tried to see if he could apply to the other ressie and he couldn't. So he just refunded it.

I'm super excited that there's been some action on the Christmas trip front!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!! :santa:

Will try to work on Itineraries for this trip soon!!

I have ADRs made mostly and know what our touring plans are.

Waiting for Aug 26th for the Candelight Processional reservation window to open up!! Crossing my fingers for the night and restaurant we want!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!! It's back to school time for many of us! :teacher:

Sending all your kiddos great back to school :goodvibes !!

Catch y'all soon!

Glad you were able to get the discount and one reservation, so much easier than having to switch rooms. :thumbsup2

WOOT WOOT for making plans for the Christmas trip!! Going to have to head over to your TR soon!!! Unpacking my house is taking up most of my time!

Let me 'splain....

I know I mentioned Mr. I and I going away on a couples only trip to New Orleans on Brook's New Year's Eve TR... but I don't remember if I ever mentioned it on here and I'm too lazy to read through it all.

We love the idea of going to New Orleans, got really excited reading Brook's TR, researched a ton of restaurants hotels etc and were all set.

Only to find out that there are no direct flights to New Orleans from Austin. And that the flights we could take are 40 to 50 dollars more each way than to Orlando. (I may have checked the difference on purpose :rolleyes1)

And the hotels were going to be nearly as much per night as staying at a Deluxe in Disney with the new 40% extended general public discount.

And while I am very excited and lucky to be going at Christmas with the boys, mom and sis, I have been feeling a little sad and maybe a bit guilty that I'm going without Mr. I. :guilty:

And Mr. I and I had such an interesting (that's all you TR readers are getting... don't wanna spoil it) evening at Cali Grill we were intrigued to spend more time together, just us, in Disney.

And I'm applying for a teaching certificate program next summer. And am hoping to start back to work teaching next fall. Which means January trips are going to become much more difficult.

And Dash is getting older... again making January trips much more difficult.

I put the bug in Mr. I's ear so to speak, never thinking he'd go for it.

And last night he texted me that he was ok with it and for more reasons than just because he knew it would make me happy.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Holy NOTHER Disney trip BATMAN!

Are you kidding me?

I know this year is going to be unbeatable on the Disney trip front... but you don't have to tell me twice. Two trips in a little over a month??

Unreal. I am beyond blessed and know that many many things could get in the way between now and then.

But as of now we are planning a 4 night (maybe 5, we're still playing around with it) trip over MLK weekend. Edna and FGM are going to watch the boys for us. By going over a holiday weekend, it'll be less days FGM has to get Dash to school. So that works out well.

We haven't booked anything yet... but I'm hoping to book room only and the airfare tomorrow, when mom's SW card moves into another billing cycle.

I'll be posting more details as they come in. January trip deets will be in this lovely shade of purple!

I also need to start sharing our December plans as well!!! :yay: So much Disney planning to do!!! :woohoo:

So now a question to you all:

What would be on your priority list for a couples trip? Date nights, definitely but what else?

Would love to hear all your ideas!!

I'm so excited for you!!!

That is so amazing. THREE Trips. Woot Woot.

Let's see....date nights for sure. What about one of those resort photo shoots with just you and him? That could be a nice keepsake. Or you could maybe do one of the tours of the parks??

Glad you were able to get the discount and one reservation, so much easier than having to switch rooms. :thumbsup2

I was really glad too!! Now they've extended the AP discount through our dates. I may try and call and apply the AP code too since Mom'll be with us. And I most likely will be buying an AP as well now that January is planned. Gotta run the numbers.

I think the AP discount would be an extra 2% off so it's like 30 bucks less. But 30 bucks is 30 bucks!! Will probably apply it when I call and book January.

So glad to hear the Christmas trip is ON!!!! I bet Dash will love those bunk beds!

I was glad to hear the Christmas trip was ON too!! Whew!

Dash and Jack Jack both will love them. And I think it will open up the room a bit more too. More floor space! Always a good thing with two boys.

Sounds like the Christmas trip is a "go"!!! :woohoo: Heading over to the TR now!

:woohoo:
So glad you're heading over to the TR!!

WOOT WOOT for making plans for the Christmas trip!! Going to have to head over to your TR soon!!! Unpacking my house is taking up most of my time!

Good luck on unpacking!! I always love unpacking more than packing! It's fun to find new ways to store stuff!

WOOOT for Christmas plans!

I'm so excited for you!!!

That is so amazing. THREE Trips. Woot Woot.

Let's see....date nights for sure. What about one of those resort photo shoots with just you and him? That could be a nice keepsake. Or you could maybe do one of the tours of the parks??

TY LL! I'm pretty excited for me too. Not quite real yet!

Photo shoot is a GREAT idea! As is the tour! Exactly why I asked you guys for input!!

I checked the airfare the very next day after booking our flights and the $89 dollar fares were back up and there were two of them, so I "changed" the boys flights and SW now gives you the option of a refund of the overage funds instead of having to hold it for future use! SCORE! $60 back :yay:

I will post Day 1 plans SOON!

Aggggg, seriously? You and Mr. I going just the two of you? Lucky! I'm very excited for you, that will be so much fun, and you won't have to feel guilty about not taking the boys because they will have just been :thumbsup2

Let's see, adults only stuff....in addition to any of the tours, there is always La Nouba. Mom and I saw that in May and loved it! If you want to venture off property there is the Blue Man Group which is supposed to be amazing too.

:rotfl: you are so addicted! ;) but aren't we all??? How great you are going to WDW instead! I remember our NOLA portion costing almost as much as Disney as well, both Joe and I said we wish we could just stay for another week at Disney instead! but....the whole family thing....;). We couldn't get a direct flight there from Orlando or back to MN.
