The phone rings....oh no, Stitch has taken over the Magic Kingdom...get up Picards get up!!!
Rise and shine little ones, it is time to head out. the girls were not too thrilled with where they were, what they had to wear, and how early I was making them move..
..I am so glad we have adopted boys!!
I call Kim to make certain that they are up and where we are going to meet. Today is Maxim's big day, so I need to stop at the ticket counter and pick up his $75 gift card. We agree to meet right inside the turnstiles. So, off we go onto the early bus and head to the Happiest Place on Earth. (you may have noticed that I keep saying that, there were som definitely unhappy moments this day)
Becca and Sydney
Alex and Max
We get to the park, and I head over to the call desk while Dave takes the boys over to the Crystal Palace. It was good, I was the 3rd person in line. The first family at the window seemed to be having some early morning issues, and they opened another window. Now, I must state that at this point I am standing in the correct spot, where as the 2nd person in line was standing directly behing the 1st family at the window. When the 2nd window opens she calls for me to come over and the other woman pushes herself over with 2 girls in tow and states.."I was next!" very rudely. I begin my mantra..."happiest place on earth" so as to not explode at the very beginning of the day. Now, she has a real issue also...apparently has left the childrens' key to the world cards in the room, how is she to get them in the park
Finally it is my turn and I go up, meanwhile Kim and Doug have arrived and I send them to the CP with the rest of the family. I give the girl my info for Max's birthday and she tells me I need his pass. Well, I don't have it on me, my husband has it and he is at CP; she tells me not to worry, I can get it inside at Town Hall. OK, thanks.
Off to breakfast I go. I step through the tunnel, and there is my family...why are you not at CP checking in? Don't worry, it's all good!!! My Dave is very astute after 21 years of marriage to noticing when the sarcasm comes out there is a problem. I relay the rude lady issue and how I needed his ticket...don't worry, I will be fine. So I take this opportunity to take some pictures of the empty park.
We get to CP, check in, and we end up being the 1st table to the right as you enter....good and bad. It is the 1st stop of the characters, but it is also the path for people to walk by so it tends to be congested. Breakfast goes wonderfully, Alex does the Tigger Parade, and we eat lots of fattening and yummy food. The omlet chef made a Mickey pancake for Maxim's birthday, and we end the morning with another cupcake with a candle.
magic.
We have to head to Fantasyland so that Kim can ride Dumbo with Alex. They have been talking about this for months, so we are on a mission. We go through the castle, and we have 5 minutes left. We happen to be right at the ropes and we meet with the Fairy Godmother...
and a very nice CM notices that it is Maxim's birthday, so he brings him over the rope and has everyone sing Happy Birthday.
Now, in the recesses of my mind, I remember on the board someone stating that you could wake Tinkerbell if you were the first one's into Tink's treasures and you politely asked. So, I was thinking about it, but my sister really wanted to get on Dumbo so they could then leave Fantasyland for the "bigger" rides. I turn to the family next to me that have 2 little girls and tell them what you could do. The mom looks at me funny and says..."we're heading to Peter Pan." O.K., my mind is made up. Maxim helps to drop the rope, and we march over to Tink's treasures and Maxim gets to ring the bell that wakes her up....it really was quite cute and both boys got a kick out of it.
So for the next 2.5 hours, we are in Fantasyland...Dumbo, Peter Pan, Pooh, Philharmonic, meet Ariel....
Our original plan was to head back to OKW for lunch, pool, and then go back in to the park after Alex woke from a nap. So we head down Main street to the city hall to get Maxim's $. Yeah....can't get it there, have to go to the will call on the outside. So, we head there, and yes, there is a long long line. Now I feel the tears behind my eyes...I take a deep breath...and head out. I wait in line for 20 minutes, get up to the counter, hand over the info and she says...where is your son? "excuse me?" I need to see your son. Now I ask you...why didn't the woman in the morning tell me that?
Now I am getting mad...I explain in detail about this morning and that the cm said I needed his pass, and that my husband was inside the park with my sons. No deal...had to have him...so I tell her that I will go get him, but I refuse to wait in line for the 3rd time for this card....O.k., I go in the park, grab Max and head back out. Now she tells me that the copy of his passport isn't going to be enough, she needs the real thing...WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The tears start to flow; I am tired, slightly hung over, hungry for lunch, ticked off at the wasted time...get the manager. They finally get it and low and behold 45 minutes is lost getting the gift card. Dave is ready to wrap it up, the boys don't want to leave, I am crying....."happiest place on earth"
Don't worry, it does get better.....
