Three Bedroom vills Old Key West

My family is planning a vacation 2/28/16 to 3/5/16 and we are looking at old key west. It will be 6 adults, 5 children 16,13,8,2 and1. Two of the adults will be in scooters due to illness (this is our 1st time using them). I would like some kind of info on which place I can ask for near a bus stop and a pool. Our last stay there was near nothing and it was really hard for us with the kids. Also I need info on where to rent scooters and do they deliver and pick up at the resorts? We are DVC members. Thand you all in advance.

Is an HA GV available? Otherwise my understanding is that the other GVs all require stairs.

I'm almost positive there is at least one or 2 HA GV's at OKW, but they would need to be blocked at time of booking for certain. Dollyd I am assuming you are NOT an OKW member? Of you would have already snagged at Grand Villa at 11 months out. Especially since you are needing one with HA. Otherwise I think your chances of getting one are very small. I sure hope to be wrong on that for you.

I was hoping for a grand villa as well at 7 months. I will try my best. But If I can't get a handicap villa blocked off. We will not be staying there. But if you can snag the grand villa that is in the higher 60's building, with elevator, Its not far from HH house, and main pool. Saratoga on the other hand has elevators, and you would have not trouble. More points. But you would have no problem mostly likely getting something near a bus stop, or a pool

Fairly certain the GVs in the elevator buildings are some or all of the HA GVs that are non-HH category so again, you need to have it booked HA. When investigating before I think there is 1 or at most 2 GVs that have their first story on the ground level. The others with access will be in the elevator buildings.

I looked at the OKW map and buildings 48 and 63 are the only ones with HA GV's. Building 48 would have the ground level entrance and 63 has elevators.

I believe I stayed in villa 48. The master was H/A but the other bedrooms were on the second floor. There was plenty of room for two scooters. The other bedrooms weren't H/A as I remember.

Don't forget that two of the bedrooms are on an upper floor from the entrance and you have to take the stairs to get to them. If your two scooter people have the master or sleep in the living room (and you get the HA GV), you'd be okay.

Has anyone stayed in building 19? I understand that building has a GV that is near the quiet pool and also the bus stop. I know building 16 is fairly close to the HH area, but I don't know what floor the GV is in either one.

We originally requested a GV in #19, but it had a maintenance issue so we were put in 22.. The balcony faces the quiet pool, not the golf course. Very convenient to the bus stop...right outside your door practically. But it was loud with adults swimming, cooking and partying at the pool more than a few nights when we got off the bus to walk to our unit...we were glad that we didn't get it. We did walk down a few nights to swim...but it was pretty noisy...all adults...
