My 14 year old daughter was threatened by a local neighborhood boy. She and a three other friends were seen by this boy talking to a boy he did not like. He then called my daughter's friend's cell phone and left a message. ".... I swear to God, I swear to God if I see you talking or hanging around XXX, I will F...ing Kill all of you....." This was in a clear, Methodical Voice, with No charged emotion, Very dark if you know what I mean. The tone of the message got to me more than what was said.
I have gone to the school where they are all in the same grade and ride the same school bus. ( I have been driving her to and from school) with only a few days left, the school said they can't really do anything. I also went to the Police, who said I can't do anything since the threat was not made directly to my daughter and it was not on her cell phone. The other girls parent's are most likely not going to pursue it.
Now this boy is trouble, when I went up to the School to tell them about the incident and play them the message, they all rolled their eyes when I mentioned his name. Fighting broken class, threating teachers, In second grade he punched a teacher and kicked the principal. Only kid I have known to get kicked out of elementry school.
I spoke to the boy's parents who said they are going to punish him. I found out later he was allowed to go to his basketball game the next night. I doubt that as they have already had their son fight another boy on their front lawn. " You boys have to fight it out". They did not want me to go to the police or school, however I told them that I did not like the tone of his message and I had to alert the authorities. They then started denying that he threatened anyone.
I told my daughter to not talk to this boy, Come home right away if he is around, don't go near his house, and don't engage in any conversation with him at all.
Is there anything else that I should be doing?
