thoughts on the DVC 4th of July event at the Contempoary

When I called the other day the cm said booking starts June 4

I just called and they said taht they are having systems problems and it should be on sale sometime today but not yet.

Does anyone know the layout of the convention center? Where would they watch the fireworks from? It may be worth it for a good view of the fireworks if you don't want to go into the parks or deal with a bunch of crowds.

I have been there... I am shocked that people think a party in a parking lot with a poor view of the fireworks is a good deal, but to each their own. No IMHO this is NOT a good view of the fireworks

I called yesterday and they said they changed the booking to May 28 not June 4.

As far as DVC special events are concerned, this one seems like it would be fun....I attended some of those members events in the past and wondered what the point was, but this seems alot more focused and fun

I called again when the website appeared to be active again. It took a few minutes but she was able to book the event.

I'm looking forward to it... I think being away from the large crowds along with the entertainment will be fun.

I was really torn about this one. It sounds like fun, but I am trying to keep our next trip somewhat low-cost (eating more meals in our room, very few ADRs) and I had to pick just one or two things to do extra. We decided in the end to book the Wild Africa Trek Safari because we think the kids will all really enjoy this one and I've heard great things.

Guess we'll stick to our plan of hanging with the crowds on July 3rd inside the Magic Kingdom. We have a late reservation booked at The Plaza before the fireworks and maybe we can ride that out until they start by eating some ice cream and snacks. I wonder if we'll have a decent view from there?

I think it sounds great at a fair price. If i was going to be there at that time, I would definitely go.
