Thoughts on renting strollers

We are heading down in Dec and will be renting a double stroller primarily for our 3yo but our 7yo will also end up in it from time to time, I'm sure. We have rented strollers in the parks and on our last trip we rented a double from Apple. I'm leaning towards renting from a company off-site bc it was SO MUCH CHEAPER. We were happy with Apple; the stroller was in decent condition (I didn't expect it to look brand new) and we had no problems with them delivering or picking up. The only slight hiccup we had was that it was hard to fold at times and you have to fold them to get on the WDW buses (we're staying at CBR).

I've started to compare the companies and I did see that Kingdom provides the parent console with theirs and that was not available even as an add on at Apple. That's not a deal breaker but it would be nice to have. From what I'm figuring Kingdom would be twice as much as Apple. What are y'alls thoughts, ideas, experiences, etc?

Love Kingdom. Using them again in August. The parent console really came in handy and had a small cooler built into it, which worked out great for us with the sippy cup for our DS. You could always buy a universal console and bring it down with you to use if you went with Apple.

We used Orlando Strollers last year, and it went well, no complaints. This parent console sounds great, I'm not sure we had one??? We may have, bc we did have a double cup holder and a couple little trays across the handle area, so thats got to be it. I'll look into it a little more to be sure.

I completely agree about them being a bit tough to fold sometimes. My husband got really annoyed by it a few times. I wish it could be easier!

LOVED Kingdom. We used them last September and we are using them again this September. The stroller looked brand new and it was very clean. The parent console was a great feature. It also came with a rain cover and a small cooler. We also opted to rent the child snack tray this year which I think will help my son out a lot to put his drink down on and his food. (I didn't even see it listed to add last year so maybe its new.) I think it was only around an extra $5 to add that.
ETA: the snack tray is $10 to add.

We used Kingdom for our first every stroller hire in Feb (we brought our own on previous 2 trips!)! I loved how handy it was to not have to cart the stroller with us on the plan.

Our double buggy folded really easily and was in very good condition. The delivery and pick up went very smoothly and there was room enough for our 4 and 2 year olds! The parent console is really handy, and so it the cooler they provided as well. We booked our last year and the snack tray wasn't an option for us to add on but agree it would also be very useful!

We used Kingdom twice (and will be a third time in June). Great service, great strollers, and they'll throw in the console, rain covers, and a cooler for free.

We used Kingdom on our last trip and were very pleased. I'm still going back and forth on if we are renting this trip bit if we do it will be with Kingdom again.

Following along. I was originally going to bring my sit n stand but have heard they are really a pain to get on and off the bus. I will most likely rent a double.

This will be our third year using Kingdom. They are awesome.....fabulous customer service and so easy to use. I highly recommend.

Not sure how big your kids are, but the bigger problem with the sit and stand (for us) was that it is just a monster to maneuver. I honestly had a much easier time pushing a double-wide city mini that we rented.

We rented from Apple and it was great! We won't rent next time only because DD7 won't fit as she's 46" and 49lbs. It was great to have on the long walk back to the room as we were at AoA in a Little Mermaid room.

We loved Kingdom. The console was fantastic and we made use of the cooler bag. We also added on a case of water. Highly recommend them!

We used Orlando, got a double citi Mini double with a 4&7 year old and were very happy. They loved the stroller, it was easy to use, and had zero problems.

For what it's worth, would you consider buying a stroller for your trip?

I did that when the kids were young. I searched online, found one I liked, and just bought it. I found someone online who bought it from me when I was done, and we split the cost.

It was incredibly useful in the airports, and on the monorail, and getting around the resort.

To save alot of hassle - are you sure you need to get a double? Why not single?

I would consider buying one if I thought I would have any other use for it. We really don't use a stroller all that often w our 2yo so we just have a regular umbrella stroller. We're getting the double bc we have a 6yo that will prob end up in it some (he did when we went last Nov). He wouldn't be a stroller at all if we weren't talking about miles of walking everyday. We will be driving so we don't need it for the airport. It is a good suggestion for someone that would have other occasions to use it tho!

If you call Apple with an issue with your stroller, they bring a new one out! We had one that would not fold well, we called and they had one for us by the time we got back to the resort for a mid-day break. We will rent from them again. You really can't beat their price- I am not spending $20-60 per day on a stroller.

We rented from Kingdom a couple years ago and loved it. It was a very nice stroller to use. I almost wish I could rent it again for our trip in august but we have to bring our own this time (need it for the airport). However we are renting our crib from them.

Was it difficult to fold because of the condition it was in or because you weren't used to it? That would play a big part in my decision. A universal parent console would probably be cheaper to buy than the difference in rental price, so if using a different company doesn't change the folding problem, it isn't worth it

The stroller was easier to fold then my Chicco at home. Just pull the handle in the seat and it folds in half. Plus it felt like you were "pushing a cloud."
