Thoughts on renewing my AP

My AP expires before DAP. I'm ok for tickets for that because I have an old non expiring pass with enough days on it. My dilemma comes from using the old pass for DAP. The original plan had been to use part of it for my April 2010 trip and the rest for a couple of days surrounding PCC 2.0 . Now I won't have enough days and the AP is going to be needed. This does enable me to get AP room discounts if they materialize for April and to get the TIW, so the extra $200 will be covered. I am wondering about the new renewal policy with getting an extra 3 months. If I get the renewal, does that immediately activate the AP, or will the activation wait until I actually use it in April? That would take me through June 2011 with the AP. I'm not sure if this would work.

Any opinions?

You cannot renew the pass in April Kim because it will have expired. You have 30 days either side of the December date on the back of the ticket to renew. It's 15 months from that date should you buy the voucher. I purchased my vouchers before the price increase in August.

The three extra months was my deciding point on renewal because it will cover both DAP and PCC 2.0 for us.

Thanks, George. I thought that would be the case. I was just hoping it wasn't that way. I guess I will get the AP voucher after the new year an just have 1 year. It doesn't make sense to renew and that would only give me through March of 2010.

I'll be the same with March 2010 but it gives me two trips now at 10 or 11 park days so it's worth it. Works better for Deb with 16 park days.

My AP also expires in January. I'll renew it online within 30 days of its expiration to get the additional 3 months - even though I won't be at WDW until April to get the renewal AP issued. I don't believe in paying for things before I have to unless it saves me money.

It will give you until march 2011.

If i understand correct then you have multiple trips planned
DAP (december 2009)
April 2010
and PCC 2.0 (december 2010)

Your ap expires in december this year (2009).

If you get a renewal then you ap is valid until march 2011 and then you have all the trips you have planned covered with you renewal.
