First let me say for $139 a night it was great. The staff in the lounge are incredidble. Anette, Vicki, and Cheyenne were absolute stand outs!!! The food offerings were above what was offered at the HRH's club lounge last year. I will break this down into pro's and con's if anyone would like more detail on one I will be glad to give more detail.

Pro's

1. Check-in was a breeze, we had Ehu, she was friendly and wonderful. Our rooms were ready when we arrived at 1:30 pm.

2. Concierge staff was fabulous, cannot say enough good things about them.

3. Parking was never an issue but we only moved the car once. They did not charge us the $6 a day either.

4. Walk to the parks was much quicker than I had anticipated.

5. The hotel itself is beautiful.

Con's

1. Housekeeping!!! On our 2nd day I called star services around 3 pm because our room had not been cleaned and we were going to nap. I asked how late they cleaned the rooms and they told me 5-5:30. I requested they clean the room at 4:30. At 4:10 I was drying my hair when housekeeping knocked on my door and asked if we wanted service. I very politely asked can you come back at 4:30, the only response they gave me was, "WE DONE, WE FINISHED, WE GO!!!! And walked off!!! For the remainder of our stay when we passed these wonderful people they laughed and pointed, I'm still livid about it!!!!!!!!!!!

2. First night there at 11:47 pm the fire alarm goes off. After 10 minutes it stops we dooze back off and 10 minutes later it starts again and doesn't stop unitl 2:17 am!!!! Two days later we returned for a muched needed nap well my 15 month old nephew needed one. As we are laying down theres an announcement, we will be testing the fire alarms for the next 60 minutes!!!!

3. Size of room and bathroom!!!

I must say the situation with housekeeping was a real put off for us at this resort. A quick call from the concierge desk had our room cleaned before our return on the day in question. But the behavior of the housekeeping staff (which concierge was aware of) was unexceptable and the lack of action by staff will probably keep us from staying there again.

The resort is lovely and I think most people will be very pleased there. We found ourselves missing the beds at the PBH and the large room and bathroom!

Hi SnowWitch!
Glad you got the $139 Club special at least! The hotel is beautiful, just not hitting on all cylinders yet. Even when kinks are worked out we'll likely only stay at HRH or PBH in future.
'We done, we finished, we go", wish I'd have thought of that when we checked out of RPR last time!! That would look great on a comment card!
Hope overall ya'll had fun!

Overall we had a great time, we wouldn't let housekeeping and fire alarms ruin our vacation. However, it will affect where we stay in the future.

I was starting to think that I was the only one who had a problem with housekeeping. I was there from 8/3-8/6. There was one day that I didn't have any housekeeping & the next day...I had to ask them for toilet paper in the afternoon (they hadn't gotten to us yet!). They never replenished our coffee packs either...but that was no biggie since we were at Club Level. I have to second the remarks on the Concierge Staff....they were very nice. As far as the food.....I didn't think it was great at all. They ran out of things & didn't have anything to replenish with. As far as the $6.00 for the parking....they did try to charge me........ My check in took 45 minutes!!! There seemed to be a problem with my ressies...if you remember...I am the one who posted that they lost my ressies and had to fight to get them back at the rate I originaly had...$139. On the whole I was happy with my stay but I would never pay more than $139 for that Club Level. I do plan on returning in November & hope that they have things running better by then......

I don't want to mislead people into thinking the food offered on club level was great but the evenings offerings were far superior to what was offered at the HRH's club level last summer. For afternoon snacks at the HRH we had cheese, crackers, and bread. At the RPR we had fruit, cheese, nachos/salsa, and the hot dish varied. One evening they offered something called beef roluntunda(spelling why wrong). It was accually pretty good, we had chicken dim sum on another evening. Another evening we had some type of cold salad but it was good.

In the future we will rotate between the HRH and the PBH. My boys loved the HRH and myself and DH loved the PBH. The lack of action by management to decipline such rude behavior will keep me from returning to this resort. Please post when you return to let me know if it has improved.

Hi SnowWitch,

Great trip report, just what I was looking for someone who stayed in club rooms at RP. We will be there in 9 days, $139 Fan Club rate for Club level, 3 nights than off to Disney World. Anything you can recommend? I know Club level is in building 3, what part of the "Y" is building 3? Did you have any problems with air conditioning (room getting warm at night)? I have heard they have motion activated thermostats that turn off the air while you sleep and the rooms can get very warm. The fire alarm problem is the pitts! Not looking forward to that at all. Thanks again for all and any advice before we go.

RobinLyn:)

We also just returned from Club level at RP. I didn't have any problems at all. I was there at the same time as sharon & I did witness her problems.
The staff at conciege couldn't have been more helpful and friendly!! Cheyenne & Patti & vicki were outstanding, they just couldn't do enough for us!!!!!
I checked in no problem, got our Loews first complimentary wine delivered that night, kids got shell necklaces & Garde *A*'s on thier room keys. We didn't like the view of the first room they checked us ointo & the bellhop Michelle changed it to a fireworks pool view! they even let us keep the room we were in until the other room was ready. we even got ourt request to be at the end of the hall. (much quieter!)
Housekkeping & turndown was excellent!! They left extra towels & toilitries. At turndown they pulled out the sofa bed & left small gifts on the beds ( shell key chains, shell necklaces & RP magnets)
I did mention that the food should be replenished at club level & the next couple of days it was. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from. And the complimentary wine, beer & bottled water was worth the extra money itself.
I have only stayed at the Swan & Yacht club concierge/club level and RP was pretty comparable to those at a lot less money!! Yes, nothing like POLY concierge but that is a lot more $$$.
I will be there again at Thanksgiving and whenever they will give us adiscounted rate again for club level! :)
I do worry however about the consistency of the resort but it is new & I write a letter about my experiences good & bad each time. So I can only hope it will get better. I also longed for the luxury of PBH! But when we make frequent trips a luxury hotel is not always in the budget! ;)

I agree 100% on the club staff they were outstanding. Even the great rate I would not do a repeat visit, I would be livid with housekeeping at a Comfort Inn for $49 a night with the attitutde these 2 ladies showed! The only night we recieved anything with turndown was the night our room had to be cleaned by evening shift because "We done, We Finished, We GO" didn't have time. We had 2 rooms and one of the rooms never had anything left which wasn't a big deal but I find it very uneven how some recieve excellent service while others do not. Let me say again we did have a great vacation but housekeeping and fire alarms did cause some cloudiness on otherwise sunny days.:)

SnowWitch,
you really should write a letter to the manager. As a former restaurant owner, it's really the only way you know to make changes. Most managers can't be everywhere & seldom know everything that goes on. We always encouraged our costumers to give us all the feedback we could get from them. Even though you called on them, God only knows who you were directed to.
It would be sad to see two employees ruin your memories.

Oh I fully intend to write a legnthy letter but I feel I need to get rid of my hateful little tone first. If you read my other post I do feel their housekeeping has some serious issues which maybe caused by lack of experience and need to be addressed by management. The other post to me is by far more serious than "We done, We Finished, We Go." I just love typing that, its almost amusing now.;)
