I went there in April around Easter for the Minnie dinner with a large group - 8 of us - 2 families. As far as character meals go, it didn't really stand out to me. I think we saw Daisy, Donald, Goofy, Mickey and Minnie. Perhaps the kids were super excited about Daisy. She is kind of special. None of us were doing autographs during the trip - we're so over that.
Of course the characters all come to your table and you can stand the kids up to take pictures, etc. But it didn't feel any better or different from restaurants with the combinations of classic characters - Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, etc.
For me, the buffet was pretty decent with several salad and chilled seafood options. It was hot that day.
