As a first year school teacher in a similar K-4 school in small town America, I am horrified as well.

A group of teachers and I discussed it after school today. We discussed what we would do if it were us hearing gun shots in school. I'm sure we weren't the only group of teachers having this conversation today.

My thoughts go out to all of the people involved.

School psychologist checking in. Unbelievable to lose one of our own, not to mention such young, young children, and the sheer number...words fail. When these tragedies occur, I can so see them happening at any of the schools I'm in, and its just so hard to imagine what you would do, and how you would move on afterwards. Honestly, I don't feel that they can send those kids back there. I realize building another school isn't an option, but, honestly, how could anyone who was there, staff or student, walk back in there?

I cant immagine how all those involved with this tragedy must feel and my heart goes out to them, I have just read some media reports and many of the adults who died were trying to save the chidren, they deserve recognition for such brave and selfless acts
