Thought you might want to know.....about the annual passholder renewal pin.

Last week at WDW during the AK pin event, we went to guest relations to ask about the AP pin (we had just purchased our ap's at TDS a month earlier). When we asked at guest relations at the AK, we were told that it was just for FLA residents who RENEWED their AP's after April 1. He then told us that that they were being handed out at the Island Mercantile.

When we arrived there, we asked the CM (I figured it was worth the chance) and were told we had to have our receipts, which we did. I handed them too her, she looked them over WELL. She then handed us the AP lanyard with the pin, stamped our receipts and rung up the transaction at $0. I was soooo excited!!!

So thanks to all those that shared their experiences and gave me the knowlege and the courage to ask about these pins!

But the "suited" CM at Island Mercantile was very condescending and told me on Apr 7 that in no way could I get a renewing AP holder pin b/c I wasn't a FL resident. He then told me I needed to go to Guest Relations to complain. I went to Guest Relations/Services, practically in tears from the rude suited CM, and I got lucky, got the pin and lanyard, but I can't guarantee others will be lucky. I know there are probably millions (slightly exaggerated) of AP, but I think Disney should be consistent in offers to ALL of them, not just a subset. My TWO CENTS!

As a NYer with an Annual Pass I have to agree 100% with you suzanneb. I'd personally be interested in knowing how many non-florida residents have any type of Annual Pass.
