I just wanted to share some information about my recent trip to the world. Our trip was planned for a two week stay. The first week at orange lake and the second at WL. I had a package with the free dining and one day base tickets booked because we had non-expiring hoppers. I had been considering just upgrading our one day base to ten days(saving are non-expiring for a future trip) and then getting the tickets early so we could use a few days while at orange lake. (I hope I am not being to confusing) Well everyone kept telling me this could not be done.
I even emailed Disney from their website and they responded that the tickets were on our room key and it could not be done. Well, I read a small blurb on All ears net about it being possible but not well known.
So we decided to take our chances. We figured the worst that could happen is we would lose 3 days since we were at Wilderness for 7.(the price from 7 to 10 is about 25.00 total) So I called our AAA agent and told her what we wanted to do. Well she proceeded to tell us there was no way we would get the tickets early. I explained we wanted to take the chance and she said fine and I hung up. Well the next day there is an email from her telling me she had called Disney to double check if they would give us the tix early and they again said no, so in good conscience she could not sell me 10 day tix.
Well my husband was not happy to hear this. So he called AAA only to find out that our agent had gone on vacation. He was referred to her manager who apparently had been informed that we might call. After what almost turned into an argument and ended with either you sell me the tickets or I am cancelling the trip....We got the tickets.
Now can you guess how this is going to end???? We get to Orlando, drive to Epcot and go to guest relations and ask for our tickets and they give them to us!! No questions asked and as simple as that!!
The only difference is that you have paper tickets when you check in. Fine with us!! I wanted to share my story in case anyone else might want to pick up tickets early. Be aware that they don't show in the system until 7 days prior to your arrival though. Live and Learn I guess.
