Thought I'd share some old photos

i love vintage photos, thanks for sharing!

A cheaper alternative to a slide scanner might be a "slide copier" attachment for a digital camera. I bought one on ebay that fits on my canon rebel and basically it allows you to photograph slides. Doesn't work for negatives, though.

You can buy special scanners for slides. I keep asking my dad to get one, but he's looking for a good quality one. So, it keeps getting put off.

Now or never. Slide scanning is a shrinking market. 5-10 years ago was the time to be shopping for a quality slide/film scanner. Very few models are available these days after you weed out the junky hundred dollar units that are just digital cameras in a box. The good ones from a few years ago are being discontinued as they lack support for current operating systems. I settled for a high end flatbed scanner rather than a dedicated slide/film scanner because the pickings were so slim.

Oh, that's good to know. I'll point that out to him. I know he isn't interested in the $100 units. I think it has been a while since he looked in to them. Thanks!
