We have ressies in April, & although they say it MUST be done by March we are leary of our SoG ressie. Had talked to someone that got relocated to the Lake Buena Vista Hotel. To me that is offsite & I don't want to be offsite.

Have any of you gotten relocation letters and if so, where? We're thinking of just trying for an overflow rate somewhere.

Any info, any help!

I had reservations for Dec.. they moved me to POR.. I cancelled those and tried again a few months later and was able to get the Contempory... so if they cancel your reservations and try to place you somewhere else.. keep calling to see if there is something better.

Suzy B - did they transfer you at the same rate to POR? Also, what rate were you able to get at the CR? The thing is, we are going in April. I am hoping & praying that SoG will be done by then but am afraid it won't be.

I'm concerned because we'll be there at peak time - the 2 weeks surrounding Easter. The last 2 years we were moved to the CR, however, if they really did figure SoG was going to be done by then, I can't imagine they would have room for all the guests that would be displaced.

I know it's sounds snotty, but I just don't want to be offsite or on "hotel blvd".

At POR and Contempory I was given the rate I would have paid at SoG. I understand about wanting to be on site.. The reason we canceled our POR reservations was the fact we have a 8 month old and nearly 3 year old so we really wanted to be on the monorail/boat for simplisty... I cant wait til our trip in 19 days.. Its been 30 years since I was there last.

Suzy - thanks for the response.

You will love being at the Contemporary. It is so convenient to go to the MK. You can walk there, which is actually quicker than taking the monorail. Taking the monorail to EPCOT is great, plus, once your in EPCOT & want to go MGM you can take their boat.

Make sure you take a boat over to Fort Wilderness for the buffet breakfast at Pioneer Hall. It's the best deal in all of Disney World! ::yes::

Ask at the front desk when the Electrical Light Parade comes by on Bay Lake. I bet your 8 month old would love to watch it.

Have a great time, and again, thanks for the info. :D

I didnt know there was a boat from Epcot to MGM... That will be on our must do's.. I was not looking forward to the stroller dance with a double and two kids..
Thanks

You catch the boat at the International Gateway, which is over near the countries (near the UK).

You can also walk to MGM from EPCOT, though it's quite a hike, but a good way to work off the Mickey bars & depending on the time of day & temp, can be a relaxing stroll!!

On our last trip we were at MGM, took the boat to the Beach Club, ate at Beaches & Cream, which is a little 50's style soda shop, great hamburgers!! & then we walked to EPCOT through the International Gateway. There is also a nice place to eat on the Boardwalk called the Big River Grille.

Have a great time when you go! :D
