Do you have trouble finding a foundation that looks good? I am fair with lots of freckles. If I go too light and match my skintone, it makes me freckles look freakishly odd. If I go too dark, I get a line where you can see it doesn't match my skin.

I'm really considering becoming a full time client at mystic tan so I can tan safely and have a decent looking complexion. (because I obviously can't have a real tan as I'm a big giant cancer magnet)

I should say, I haven't tried bare minerals yet. So, if that is your suggestion and it works for you...I'm on it like white on ... well, bare minerals. :rotfl:

1) You have freckles? - you have a fair complexion? there is no such thing as a safe tan - said othewise .... the "safe tan" is a myth

2) Freckles are sexy sexy sexy - some of the most beautiful women I know are very freckled.

Yes I know. That is why I said "mystic tan". It is basically spray tan. No real sun involved. :)

About the sexy thing, that is what DH says too but they annoy me. ;)

Forget the foundation, after trying several, everyone I know tells me I look better without, so I have been foundation free for 10 years :rotfl:

Hi... I am a redhead with tons and tons of freckles.. love 'em most of the time. I do use Bare Minerals.. fair, but in the summer I use tinted mineral veil, instead of the regular mineral veil as the freckles multiply sooo much they start running together. Now I must tell you .. that BE does not cover the freckles... which I like. But the combination of the foundation and the mineral veil does give you a softer look.. diffusing the intensity of the freckles.

As I have gotten older.. 50 is a month away... my red hair has darkened. It is no longer the bright flaming red of childhood.. but a darker browner red. However it is now going white... for which I am glad. For you according to some elderly friends who are former redheads... "redheads don't grey.. they go white or go bald" so I am glad the white is coming on strong.

i despise my freckles!!! these days since im chasing a two year old and a 3 yr old it's only cover up and eye stuff goign on this face! lol

i'll never forget the day one of my coworkers said to me after i went in to work after a day at the beach...."oh look at all the **** spots" she broke my heart!

JessicaR.. thank you for the link...

I was thinking about trying the mascara. I have never been able to find a mascara color that suited my very light lashes and eyes.

Have you ever tried the mascara's??

OMG Finally someone who understands!!!!! I am COVERED with freckles! I HATE foundation with a passion, yet being 17 I like some basic coverage to hide blemishes etc and oiliness. I use Rimmel Pressed Powder in a shade that matches my skin(I to am very pale yet I have really dark hair and a ton of freckles lol). It works great, It's fairly cheap (definitely less than bare minerals), and it looks natural over my freckles.

Ladies! Embrace your freckles. They make you who you are and the men LOVE them. Hands up! How many freckled ladies on this thread have had their man attempt to kiss each and every one of them? 1 ... 2 ... 3 .... 4 ... hmmm .... take nataliesdaddy advise and glory in it. Your spouses (and significant others) love you just the way you are!

And yes ... I am a redhead with freckles. My DD is a blond with freckles and she is OH SO CUTE. I hope she never tries to hide them.

I don't necessarily want to hide them BUT at 34 I'm finding I need a good foundation for all sorts of reasons people typically need a foundation. The only reason my freckles are in the way is because they arre preventing me from finding something that works. It is frustrating.

My daughter doesn't have freckles. She got her dads native american skin tone but my son has this perfect little sprinkling of freckles across his nose and cheeks and OMG are they cute! :)

I'm also freckled, fair and red-headed. Over the years I've grown to love my freckles. :) I hate foundation too. And so I don't use it. I find a good concealer in my fairest skin tone and use it when I have blemish. But freckles do hide a lot themselves!

I swear I could've written that post. I'm 33 (well closer to 34). I have recently started having a realization of my aging :( and my daughter also has her dad's darker complexion and sprinkles of freckles on her nose.

I've got no suggestions for you... but if you find something good, I'd like to hear about it. I probably still wouldn't use it except for special occasions. I'm just too lazy to do makeup every day...

Very true! Freckles hide almost everything. Don't get me wrong I LOVE:love: my freckles, but sometimes makeup can be a pain. (especially having almost black brown hair, and being super pale lol )

I have red hair with fair skin and lots of freckles.

I use Mary Kay products. They have a tinted moisturizer that provides a very sheer basecoat and then I use their mineral make-up.

I have been very happy with the results. I do not have any kind of line, but my freckles do show though...they are just toned down a bit.

I have noticed that my hair is getting lighter as I age...a few grays, but nothing bad. (I am pushing 40.) :rolleyes1

I have looked at the redhead cosmetics as well and would love some feedback on the mascara. I have not found anything I am in love with.

My eyebrows/lashes/all other body hair is so light that you cannot see it. It is a challenge to not go overboard with my lashes b/c I LOVE super long full eyelashes.

OH! For all of you redheads our there....this is something you need to check out...it is definitely on my "bucket list"!

I LOVE It!!! MY BIRTHDAY IS ON RED HEAD DAY!!! YAYYYYYY!!:cool1::thumbsup2:cool1:

Hi mamajoan,

I have not tried their mascaras. I use lancome Defincils Brown. It is a great color not drastic at all.

On the redhead site I use faithfully their eyebrow brush a brow powder. Mineral concealer stick and the mineral foundation.

Let me know if you try the mascara! :)

I am a Bare Minerals girl...I use the fairly light and it works very well with my complexion. I've got freckles, but they aren't very prominent...

I have tried many types of make up and moisturizer combinations over the years and the only thing I have found that I like is Bare Minerals. I also use their facial cleanser and moisturizer. Nice and light...I hate that heavy make up feel that you get from liquid foundations...I LOVE the light feeling of the make up.

If you have a Sephora or Ulta or a Bare Escentuals Boutique nearby (there's one in the Fashion Mall in Indy now), give the line a try! Everything I have is a Bare Escentuals product! Love, love, love the line!

I too love Bare Minerals. I saw them on QVC when they were first introducing their line many years ago. I was very curious and new there was a store in our mall across the street from where I lived so the next day went in and they put it on me and I was in love, love, love. Bought the foundation and mineral veil on the spot. I haven't used anything else since and this was many years ago. It really gives great coverage, the product lasts a long time and feels like you are wearing nothing.
