those here who remember us,my wife needs your prayers update after followup on page 5

I just found this thread now. I'm sorry to read what your wife has gone through but it sounds like the medical care has been excellent. I am in glad she has had good care and hope her recovery period goes smoothly.

she was getting depressed and bored this afternoon and spent several hours goingthrough old photos and putting them into catagories, and putting the old ones of the kids and us into album. ate a good supper and is now relaxing with a good book

She better take it easy!! :grouphug:

well shes awake... still a little shakey, but hand seems to be working better this morning,,, andshes walking ok so far. she got up and ground hte herbs she harvested yesterday and got them into the spice jars with out any help from me, tired her out, and now shes reading.

Sounds as though she is making progress each day. Smile for the little steps forward. Still sending hugs and prayers.

Great to hear she is improving, tell her to keep walking, it will do her good in the long run. Also, make sure she is drinking fluids and eating well, as this also makes for a better recovery.:thumbsup2 Keep moving FORWARD.....Faith:hug:

Hope today finds your wife much better:hug:

Does she have any hobbies that could keep her mind busy if she starts to feel down? Crossword puzzles, reading, knitting. That could really help.

Prayers continued.

If you don't mind would you post or PM me your wife's first name?

Add me to the list of people who missed this thread last week...

Mrs. Froggy - TAKE IT EASY...be sure to listen to your doc about what you can and can't do!

Hope the recovery goes well!

It sounds like she is having a speedy recovery. Not that I know anything about this, lol. If there is a way for her to overdo it, make sure she doesn't. :)

Froggy...a couple of things:

1. Would her MD consider sending her for a little outpatient physical/occupational therapy? Might get that hand strength back more quickly and also stop that listing.

2. Is she on a blood thinner?

Hey, Jules - sounds like you're feeling a little better each day. Do what you're told, and you WILL get better! (I'm sure it's frustrating, though.)

Hang in there. (both of you!)

therapy will come from after neuro from what we were led to believe, as for thinner not yet. her bloodwork actually improved after the stroke based on tests ran a month ago

Froggy and Jules- I just saw this and am happy to see that there has been improvement. Jules, you are in my prayers, I know that:hug: you are going to get well soon

well we just discovered the hard way that walking around wal mart is too much for her right now. she did really good all day and wanted to go with me to the store, but shortly after we got into the store we figured out it was more than she could handle.

What part of resting is eluding her?
