Ok I need to hear more about this, I did not see them on the room serice menu before. I would love to have some in our room on my birthday night. We could sip champagne on the veranda and have them- But are they just for the concierge guests?/?

I would like to know too. They sound very romantic on the verandah with some bubbly! Anyone?

Looks Yummy. Gifts Ahoy is the new name for Disney's gift brochure which should be sent to you with your excursions information, about 65 days before your sailing date. If you don't get one call the number above they'll help you.

Please note that you may purchase food & beverage and Wine Selections on board. Please contact your Stateroom Host/Hostess or Guest Services for additional information and ordering.

I saw in the Navigator that the TA gave us that on one night of the 3 night cruise they are for sale with champagne.

Be sure and let your TA know that your birthday is during your cruise. We got a DECADENT strawberries/petit four tray and Moet champagne on our first Disney cruise back in July. We were in a category 6, so it's definitely not just for concierge! If you're celebrating any special occasion, let your TA or DCL res agent know so they can surprise you!

ZooMommy, what a nice gift from your TA.
DCL doesn't give that kind of presents to guest. A small cake is usually served after one of your rotation dinners to celebrate any special occasions. We've celebrated 4 anniversaries and 1 birthday with Disney Cruise Lines.

Hi Ginger! Actually, it was DCL that gave us the petit four tray; our AAA TA sent us wine and crackers! The card from DCL said to enjoy the cruise and not the weight gain! LOL My MIL and kids were staying next door and they also got a petit four tray from them, too! They also sent a HUGE tray of the chocolate strawberries and THOSE chocolate chip cookies about midway thru because they'd lost my 6yo ds's luggage. So we had plenty of chocolate to snack on while sitting on the verandah....sigh.... I wish we were back on there....

We booked through DVC and they do nothing for your birthday. (well that's nto true I did get the cake in the dining room last time) we cruised on my birthday last year too and there were no stateroom gifts. DVC does not do that I guess only travel agents do.

Well you seem to have an "in" with DCL, they did not care about my anniversory either which was our first cruise. So if you could call them and tell them the morin family cruising 12/7/02 Cat.6 will be celebrating my birthday yet again (12/12) and they certainly can feel free to send me up some chocolate strawberries? Hey maybe my stateroom host ate them on me the past two cruises ;)

It is strange with DCL you hear of some folks getting such neat perks and others get nothing-just like the upgrades there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Although I think DVC members are on the bottom of the list. :

because they'd lost my 6yo ds's luggage

Oh, now I see why you got goodies from DCL. I hope they also paid you for your lose.

AnnMorin we'll be going on our 5th Disney cruise we have never gotten a free upgrade. On one cruise we did get moved from a Cat. 6 to 5 but only because our stateroom had problems. Doesn't make any sense, does it. We usually pay cash for our cruises saving our points for the resorts. I guess they figure we'll keep coming back.

My family went on a four night on the Wonder Sept.8th.
We were in room 8072(not sure what catagory that is)
We got a nice tray of chocolate strawberries, cookies, etc.

The question is.... I am going again Jan.9th. I will be traveling in a catagory 11. Will we get goodies also? The other question I have is.... What are the chances of getting an upgrade?

We booked directally from DCL and the girl said it was a possibility.

Thank you,
Donna

Just a thought gang - some of those unusual goodies in your staterooms may actually be courtesy of a friend or family member that knows you're going.

When someone orders through the official gift source - Magical Treasures in the past, now Gifts Ahoy they will put just about anything on the official cruise line gift card. And it isn't necessary to sign your name. That might make it appear as if it is coming from the cruise line, when it might be TA, family or friends!

How true! On our first cruise, my husband ordered the mouse takes the cheese platter for us and the tote bag of goodies for our son. I think it did say love Jay and love Dad respectively but it may not have

Do you know if it would be possible to order the tray of goodies and not the Korbel or whatever?

Donna

Everytime we cruise I call Magical Treasures now Gifts Ahoy and pre-pay our on board credits. They always ask what I would like on the card. One time I did put "Have a great time. from your friend Mickey". That all the card said. Our stateroom hostess said "My you have very nice friends to send you such a gift". It was for $500. on board credits. Fooled her.

I sure could go for one of those trays, but without the booze also.

Boy, I figured everyone cruising the first time would get the chocolate strawberries, but my DH said it could be because we booked the AAA cruise. Perhaps that's the reason we got the first tray of strawberries. It sure seems a good explanation since no one else has gotten them on this thread. I'm sorry, y'all! :D Now the second tray of strawberries was definitely for them losing our son's luggage, but we got it back one hour before we disembarked. DH went looking under the bed for anything that might be under there and there his luggage was. No tags, no ID, no nothing and we know it wasn't in the hallway with the other 6 pieces of luggage we had for the 2 staterooms. Oh well, at least he got all of his new clothes back! LOL But I don't think I'll ever allow him to wear a lime green shirt again. Just about every picture he has the one shirt on.... gak!

My DH and i ordered strawberries chocolates and champagne from the treasures brochure befor our trip. They were in our stateroom when we arrived. It is a great way to spend an evening after the kids are in bed, to sit on the verandah and sip champagne and eat chocolate in the moonlight! It is a must do if your romantic.

We booked with DU last year. It was our anniversary and my birthday (they are one day apart). We didn't receive a thing. I wasn't expecting anything, so I didn't miss it.
