Those airline rewards

I know there is credit cards that give you airline rewards, but what are some other ways of getting points? We are not credit card people.
I have been doing e-rewards.com doing surveys they have southwest, jet blue, frontier and Alaska airlines on there as well as choice hotels.

Southwest also offers a shopping portal and dining rewards where you register your card and anytime you use it at a participating restaurant you get some points. Why not use credit cards to get points that you can transfer to an airline or hotel of your choice? I used my AMEX points to get my entire family flights for our upcoming Disney trip.

I think that you will be hard pressed to find travel hacks that don’t include using CCs. Survey programs are notoriously slow earners and are good ways to supplement your FF points but are poor methods if that’s the only way you are earning points.

I know that Southwest and American both have “partner” offers for electric suppliers, if you have that option in your state. There’s usually a sign up bonus and then points awarded based on usage.

Other than that, the online shopping portals can earn you something, but they are also somewhat slow if you do not do a lot of online shopping and are relying on them for the majority of your points. You would be better off going thru a portal like eBates or Swagbucks and then using the rebate money towards your hotel or airfare.

I'm on swagbucks, they only pay .30 to 1.00 a average per survey e rewards pays 4-6.00 in rewards per survey so they are adding up quickly

Without a CC to earn the points it will take you forever to get enough points to get just 1 ticket with points. I know on United it takes anywhere from 12,000 - 25,000 points for one ticket just to give you an example of the goal you will have to try and reach by doing surveys.

But to do the online shopping she would need a CC.

eRewards also “charges” a lot of “dollars” for the airline and hotel points you redeem. You have to look at the whole picture. Four $1 SB surveys nets you $4 cash thru PayPal. One $4 survey on eRewards gets you about 160 Choice Privileges points (one night in a near-theme park Orlando hotel starts at 10,000 points).

However, there’s no reason that you cannot do more than one rewards program.
