Thor for a 9 year old?

am wondering if anybody has seen thor and if they have any thoughts as to whether it might be appropriate (or not) for a 9 year old. my son has seen iron man and loved that, am wondering if it is along the same lines.

any thoughts?

IMO it's fine. My only problem was with how loud it was - I think I am always going to bring ear plugs to the movies from now on.

If you're okay with superhero violence, then Thor will be fine. I don't think they even any mildly bad language. Nothing stands out to me, and I just saw it a couple hours ago.

It was INCREDIBLE! (And I don't just mean Chris Hemsworth's abs *swoon*)

My 6 and 9yo went and saw it yesterday.. My mom saw it last weekend, and she said that the kids would have loved it. So she had us come for a visit, and the kids did a bunch of yard work for her.. So we dropped them, along with my husband and his little sister at the movies to see Thor. They loved it.

I saw it yesterday and agree with everyone above. The only thing worse in Thor then in say the avengers cartoons is that now the people being beat up look real.

DH and DS8 took me to see it on Mother's Day. We all loved it! DS8 was on the edge of hs seat a few times and didn't get up ONCE to go to the bathroom (a big accomplishment for him).

It shouldn't be a problem taking 7 year olds, but you know your kids best and what they can/can't handle.

Took one of my 12 year old nephew and his 11 year old friend. I didn't see anything in appropriate or that made me uncomfortable with them. I would have taken them even if they were younger.

Exactly.... sometimes it was crushingly loud. And we all loved the movie!
