Hello,

4 weeks to day we will be at the airport getting ready to board the Dreamliner to Florida Yeah !!!!

Last week I received our e-ticket from Thomson and have just got round to printing it out ( yep multiple copies lol)

We have booked the premium cabin -however we booked this last year. We were really excited earlier this year when they announced new for summer 2015 addition benefits like access to lounge in uk airport -however we were told by our TA that we wouldn't have these as summer does not start till 1st May and we fly the week before.

Anyhow when I've printed the tickets this morning there is a pass to allow us into the Royal Palm Lounge at Sanford. it also says we have free soft drinks, movies play station games 2 glasses of beer or wine , internet access and baggage storage area.

So I guess this is because we flying back in May.

It will make the pain of leaving a little easier -

Has anyone flown on the dreamliner yet? what is your opinion?

Also anyone know / heard of / been in the Royal Palm lounge?

Thanks x

Flew economy last August from Newcastle and can honestly say it was the best flight ever. The space (we had extra legroom), seat size, staff, food all great. On the return we were delayed 5.5 hours and we all felt that we suffered less jet lag.

We went in the lounge about 5years ago & thought it was great, lovely comfy sofas to relax on, internet, films, free cookies & snacks. A great way to relax before the journey.

From what I can gather, the Sanford lounge isn't that great, but the airport is small, so those people have used it have said, that while they wouldn't pay for it (varies from £11-15 ish pp to pay), it is welcome. PE have always had this facility - at least with PE on the DL.

You are right in what you say about the UK lounges - only from 1st May. But, there have been people who have been told that because the UK lounge is being introduced, that the Sanford one is stopping! I read that someone was told this in a branch of Thomsons, but someone else asked on FB and was told no, it would be both lounges! Who knows with Thomsons - bit like Disney, depends on who you speak to on what answer you get!

I believe almost all DL now have the new PE seats on board - by 1st May all will definitely be refitted. So, hopefully you'll get them both ways as they recline more and are easier to get out of than the old ones due to the reconfig of the armrests.

We go August - panicking slightly about getting seats booked together as we go for 3 weeks and the silly way Thomsons book mean you can't pick seats until 90 days from return flight! That means probably most of the plane will have booked before us as the majority will be on 2 weeks holidays! Not impressed with that one!

Overall, I've heard good things about Thomson DL, particularly in PE - only negatives really was the old style seating, but as I said earlier, that will be out by 1st May.

Hope you have great flight :-)

We flew premium in October from Manchester.

Flight was good plenty of room. IFE was fine and food was good - I had the thai chicken curry. Lots of drinks - I had a few cocktails and Baileys.

On the way back we went in the palm lounge. It was ok - adults got 2 free alcoholic drinks. There were biscuits/trail mix and magazines. The computers for kids to play games on were very old my DD had a look and came straight back.

If you dibb I did a food report on there with pics of the flight food and lounge - same posting name.
