Hi everyone,

We just went to US on Friday the 29th and I just wanted to remind everyone how imperative it is to get there early. We had a fantastic experience despite the fact that the park gets crowded this time of year and we didn't stay onsite or buy an express pass. The key was getting there by opening time (8am for us.) We walked onto Mummy (twice), MIB, and Jaws. By the time we made our way to the front to do Shrek we had to wait 15 minutes - this attraction is the first one most folks do since it's near the entrance. After that we went to Margaritaville for lunch when it opened at 11 to avoid crowds. By this time US was getting packed at the front of the park and I'm sure many people had to wait over an hour for most rides.

So, get there early - I'm not a morning person but it's worth it to avoid lines. Secondly, if you don't make it there early, go to the back of the park right away rather than doing Shrek first. Chances are the hordes won't have made it to the back yet.

If you can go during a slower time of year all the better but at least you know you can still avoid long waits even during peak season. Have a great trip!

Thanks for reinforcing this. Too many people come back complaining of the long lines. It is nice to see that with some planning, you don't need to get the express pass and can still have short lines.

For the last couple of days waits seemed to be in the 45-60 min range for the most popular attractions such as Hulk, Spiderman and Mummy. The express lines varied from walk ons to even 20 minutes for Mummy! I waited 15 mins in the Spiderman express line and I went back to re-ride it an hour later and it was a walk on (express line again). The regular line had a 45 min wait both times.

Right, I tell people this over and over, to arrive early.

I sound like a broken record, but there's a reason for it.

When you show up early, you get on all the rides as walk ons, then you can go to lunch early.

Everything falls into place, and you have a great visit.

The only problem with this week was that the parks open at 8. That means by the normal opening time of 9, everything is pretty much packed. Get your tickets if you can early. Thats what held us up. We were still able to get on HULK, Doom, Spiderman, Dudley, JPRA, Dueling Dragons, and Poseidons Fury, AND get lunch by 12. Everything at USF was 45 mins to an hour wait.
