This was not the 1st Gator Attack at WDW

I thought Tuesday night's attack was the first and only one in 45 years. I was wrong:

Saw that info in a 1986 article someone posted last night, and it gives me the chills. We tent camped at Fort Wilderness last year, and I always let my then 10 year-old son walk to the comfort station bathroom alone at night. :scared1: I wasn't aware of any danger.

The 1986 article describes it happening near a ditch near the tetherball area. That is basically where our tent site was: 20 yards or so from the tetherball post, backing up to a shallow creek . I had no idea alligators waded in those little ditches & creeks. In all the online research I did on Ft. Wilderness prior to the trip, I never saw mention of the attack, or any warnings about gators.

Disney does need to post explicit signage about this danger.
