This sort of makes it really official...work permit to demolish the BAH in the Sudios

Look at the schematic on the second page...there are lines drawn in that aren't necessarily physical attributes of the Mickey face that can be seen from the air, but make it more obvious.

I'm gonna take this as a sign that there will be no 'replacement' icon, rather just the patch of grass that makes Mickey's nose. Thank goodness.

I really hope they don't take it down before I have the chance to see it when I go down in a couple weeks! I know it's not the most loved icon but I've always thought it looked cool and wanted to see it

It's supposed to remain till the New Year :thumbsup2

You will probably be able to buy it off of Theme Park Connection.

Do you know how many palms I'd have to grease on my town's zoning commission? :rolleyes1

I, for one, am only disappointed that a metals company is dismantling the thing. Probably to sell for scrap. I was looking forward to holding hands and singing Kumbaya while the whole thing went up in flames. Good riddance, uncultured corporate eyesore. :thumbsup2

Hmmm, I wonder if this company will dismantle it and sell the pieces. We're one of the hat non-haters and I'd totally buy a star from it if I could.

You know I was really hoping that something, alright I was hoping for Pluto's doghouse , from Toon Town would end up there as so much does but nope, everything was demolished. Did you ever go there ? Pretty amazing place :goodvibes

It would have been nice if that hat was relocated somewhere but guess that's not going to happen.

In very early October I bought the purchase-with-purchase "Welcome to World Famous Walt Disney World" retro-style plush throw, and I didn't pay much attention to the background details. Today I noticed that it has the 4 theme park icons on it, and the Hollywood Studios icon is the Earful Tower. So Disney's been quietly working on this changeover for awhile. Those throws must have been manufactured months ago.

For those hoping for a piece of the BAH, there used to be a story you could find on the internet about what happened to the Epcot sign that hung on Spaceship Earth for a few years. Some guys filmed the almost-unrecognizable remains lying here and there in one of Disneyworld's back yards. Probably was recycled.

Wait...no one in marketing has considered breaking the hat into a million 1 inch by 1 inch pieces and selling them for $50 each??? That's 50 million dollars just laying on the table!!!;)

Throw in a little COA and it would sell ( not to me ) have no doubt it would.
