**This Relaxation Thing Looks GOOD On Us!-Our July 2012 Honeymoon**NEW TR LINK!!!!!!!

Where did all my readers go?? Leave me a comment so I know you are still out there!

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! We ate too much and enjoyed time with friends and family this weekend, just as it should be!

I am leaving for my India trip in less than 4 weeks, and I am determined to finish this before then, so here we goooo!!

When I left off, I had exited EPCOT via the International Gateway to make my way to meet Ben at the Beach Club, where we were checking in.

This is such a beautiful, scenic, and short walk!

I made it to the Beach Club lobby very quickly. What a beautiful resort! It was my first time seeing it, and I was in awe!

DSC02473 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Ben had beaten me there and checked us in. When I called to tell him I was there, he had gone to pull the car up to the entrance to unload our luggage. We knew Disney would move it for us, but we decided to just bring it ourselves since we had a rental car. That way, we wouldn’t have to wait for it.

I spent the time while I waited to Ben to get the car snapping pictures, of course!

DSC02474 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

The décor here is just perfect!

Ben pulled up soon, and we unloaded the car together. Then, I stayed with the luggage while he parked the car again. When he got back, he went and asked Bell Services for a cart, and they came over to load our luggage up. They gave us a ticket to take to the Bell Services desk inside.

As we approached the desk, we saw that they had a pitcher of ice cold lemon water on a table in the lobby, so we helped ourselves to a drink while we waited in line. What a nice touch!

When it was our turn, the Cast Member at Bell Services took our ticket and wrote down our room number. She told us our luggage would arrive in about 10-15 minutes. We thanked her and headed toward our room.

I was excited to get there, so I didn’t take any pictures while we were walking there for the first time, but don’t worry, I took plenty during the rest of our stay!

When we arrived at our room, we opened the door to find that we had a HUGE corner room with a king size bed! It was perfect!

We spent the next few minutes checking out the room while we waited for our luggage.

Here is our bathroom area. We had so much space!

DSC02476 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

To the right of the bed is the hallway that led to the door. You can’t see it, but the door to the balcony was to the left of the bed.

DSC02477 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Check out our huge balcony!

DSC02478 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

The view to the left from our balcony:

DSC02479 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Back inside, I found this adorable Mickey lamp!

DSC02482 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I fell in love with all the details all around the Beach Club.

DSC02483 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

The view from the bed. We had two windows plus the balcony door! The room had so much light!

DSC02484 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

The Bell Hop arrived quickly with our bags and he also stayed for a few minutes to show us how to work all the light fixtures in the room, as well as the air conditioner.

When he left, we didn’t waste a single second. We quickly organized our bags, changed into bathing suits, and headed down to the Marketplace for lunch.

I loved the carpets!

DSC02486 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

The choices at the Beach Club Marketplace were certainly much more limited than we are used to, having only stayed at values and moderates with food courts before this. We weren’t too concerned though, because we planned on doing most of our eating at EPCOT anyway!

We used up the last of our Port Orleans Riverside dining credits to pay for our meal, and also picked up our new refillable mugs with our Beach Club dining plan.

I decided on a turkey sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. The bread for the sandwich was amazing, but there was way too much meat and it was the yucky processed kind. The bread totally made up for it though…check it out!

DSC02487 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02488 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I only took a few bites of the tomato and cucumber salad. I had been really excited about this, as it is my salad of choice, but it just wasn’t very fresh tasting.

DSC02489 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Ben chose a ham sandwich with chips. Ohhh, those chips…sooooo good!!

DSC02490 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02491 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02492 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We took our sandwiches to the little patio right across from the Marketplace. Here was our view while we ate.

DSC02493 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I guess I didn’t take pictures of our desserts at this point because we didn’t eat them. Ben ran them up to the room while I filled our mugs. At this point, there was only one place we wanted to be….Stormalong Bay!

We headed outside and got our first glimpse of this gorgeous creation!

DSC02494 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We managed to find a chair to be our home base, and piled our belongings on it. It was a terrible spot that didn’t even face the pool, but we didn’t plan to lounge at this point anyway, so it didn’t matter.

We decided to enter the pool the best way possible….by going down the slide! Stormalong Bay has such a fun, long slide! Much better than any pool waterslide I’ve ever been on before!

We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the pool. Ben got into a volleyball game and I found a seat on a little underwater ledge to watch and get some sun. The pool party also started while we were there, so I watched the games and karaoke. I can’t even tell you how many kids got up there and sang Call Me Maybe…I think it was the song choice of 75% of the kids who sand karaoke!

When Ben was done playing volleyball, we checked out the lazy river section for a while. This area is fun and really deep!

We left the pool area around 4:00PM to go get ready for our dinner ADR that night. We had a very special dinner planned!

Enjoying your TR, and letting you know I'm lurking in the background. Happy to hear you scored a corner room and had an enjoyable afternoon at the pool.

Looking forward to reading about your dinner in Epcot. Read you soon! :surfweb:

By the way - I noticed you completed this update a couple of days ago - it just hit my mailbox this evening.

Oh wow - love your pics of your day wandering by yourself! The Beach Club is so beautiful - we have only stayed at BWV renting points and hope to make BCV our home on our next trip. You really scored an awesome room :thumbsup2 Isn't the walk from Epcot to the resorts fun and picturesque? I would love to just relax at Stormalong Bay for an entire day.

Thanks for reading!!

That room was amazing! We had so much space!!

I had a great time wandering around the parks on my own! I wasn't sure that I would, but it was nice to go at my own pace and to not have to catch up to Ben every time I took a picture! :rotfl:

The Beach Club was WONDERFUL! We will definitely be back there some day! That pool was just fabulous...there was always something going on, even for adults, because it seemed like there was always a group playing volleyball! We LOVED the walk to EPCOT, so quiet and beautiful!

I'm still here! I got a little behind, but I'm caught up now!

Your room at the beach club was gorgeous! Perfect for a honeymoon! :lovestruc

I've only stayed at the villas, and I think the decor in the hotel rooms is so much prettier.

I think spending the day at stormalong bay was the perfect way to spend an afternoon at the beach club!

We loved that room! We loved the whole resort...can't wait to go back some day!

I've never seen the decor in the Villas, but I definitely had no complaints at the regular hotel.

Stormalong Bay is fantastic!! You will see in the coming days that we spent quite a bit of time there!!!

When I left off, we had just enjoyed an afternoon at Stormalong Bay, and were headed out the door for our dinner reservation.

Ben was ready a few minutes ahead of me, so he went to bring the car around while I finished up. I made it to the entrance just as he was pulling up, and the bell hop outside opened the door for me. Such a nice touch!

We pulled out of the Beach Club and drove to the Contemporary for our reservation at the California Grill. We were excited to be going back, because this is where Ben proposed!

We arrived at the Contemporary at 5:30PM, parked, and headed inside.

DSC02495 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We checked in, took the elevator upstairs, and were seated within 5 minutes. We had a nice table right by the window in the wine room. It was covered in Mickey Confetti to celebrate our honeymoon!

DSC02503 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We also had a beautiful view.

DSC02496 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02497 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02500 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Our waiter took our drink orders and we also ordered the bacon cheeseburger flatbread at the suggestion of our waiter. We had loved the Triple Cheese flatbread the last time, so it was a tough decision to order something else, but we went with the suggestion.

Our drink arrived quickly, along with the bread.

DSC02498 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I love anywhere that brings me salted butter!!!!

Our flatbread arrived soon after. Isn’t it pretty?

DSC02499 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Unfortunately, this was not even close to as good as the triple cheese one. It was okay, and we ate most of it, but we wouldn’t order it again.

For our entrees, we both ordered the filet.

DSC02504 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Once again, this was just okay. I thought it was kind of dry, and Ben wasn’t a big fan of the flavor. It was still good, and we cleared our plates, but it wasn’t great.

For dessert, we ordered the bananas and caramel and the chocolate sampler. These were both amazing!

DSC02505 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02506 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

While we were having our dessert, the manager came over to chat about our wedding and honeymoon and to congratulate us. A very nice touch to the meal!

As we continued to enjoy our dessert, the birds outside gave us quite a show!

DSC02507 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Since we had moved resorts on this day, we were still trying to finish up our 2 remaining old credits from Port Orleans Riverside and still needed to use 2 new credits from the Beach Club. This took a few minutes because they had trouble accessing our old credits, but in the end, everything worked out just fine!

Once we were all set, we went outside to the observation deck where Ben proposed. We enjoyed the wonderful view on this gorgeous evening!

Overall, we enjoyed California Grill but we won’t return for a while. We found that we love Narcoosee’s a lot more, and have decided to go back there on our next trip.

Up Next: Our night at EPCOT!

Hi! I started reading your TR a couple of weeks ago, just never got around to commenting! First off, congratulations! :goodvibes

Your pictures of the Beach Club are gorgeous! It's getting me even more excited for my upcoming stay there in three months! :cool1:

It sounds like yall had a lovely honeymoon so far! I'm looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip! :goodvibes

I love your dress that you wore to Cali Grill. :)

Thanks! I stocked up on sun dresses before our trip...they were so comfortable to wear in that heat!

The Beach Club is amazing...you will have so much fun!!!

After our dinner at California Grill, we jumped in the car and drove back to the Beach Club.

DSC02521 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We had plans to go back to EPCOT that night because we had snack credits leftover from our Port Orleans Riverside stay that would expire if we didn’t use them up. Where better to use snack credits than the World Showcase, am I right?

Before we went, I headed upstairs to change shoes, because I still had some blisters that were bothering me. I rocked the sundress with sneakers again…no shame here! Comfort first!

I snapped some pictures on the way to the room, of course! The carpets here are fabulous!

DSC02523 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02524 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

While I did that, Ben went to the front desk to check on our snack credits. As I mentioned before, they had some trouble accessing them at California Grill, so we wanted to make sure they would be okay to use.

I met Ben down in the lobby, and he reported that everything was fine with our snack credits, so we headed on our way.

I could never get sick of this beautiful walk!

DSC02529 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We entered through the International Gateway, and made a beeline for the Caramel Shop in Germany.

Well…a beeline with photos along the way!

DSC02531 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

At the Caramel Shop, we ordered a dark chocolate sea salt caramel, a milk chocolate caramel and a caramel chewy bar, all to go. We would enjoy those back at the resort.

Our next stop was for something refreshing…a Kaki Gori in Japan!

DSC02532 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02533 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I got rainbow and Ben got strawberry. These were good a refreshing, but the ice was very hard in some places.

We planned to watch Illuminations next, but we wanted to be near the International Gateway so we could head out easily when we were ready. We took our snacks and found a nice bench to relax on.

After Illuminations we headed out and walked back to the Beach Club.

DSC02550 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02552 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

On our way to our room, we stopped in the Marketplace to use our last two snack credits for the next day’s breakfast. Ben chose a chocolate croissant and I got a blueberry muffin.

Back in the room, we enjoyed our treats from EPCOT.

Dark chocolate sea salt caramel:

DSC02555 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Chewy Caramel Bar:

DSC02557 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

These were both amazing, of course! We highly recommend both!!

We spent the rest of the evening relaxing and watching some coverage of the Olympics!

Up next: Sea World!

This morning, we were heading to Sea World! We love that park and were very excited!

We didn’t get a very early start, despite our best intentions. That king sized bed in our room at the Beach Club was just too comfortable! We set our first alarm for 7:00AM, but didn’t actually get out of bed until 8:30AM. Oh well…it’s vacation, right?!?

We ate the treats we picked up the night before for breakfast…I had a blueberry muffin and Ben had a chocolate croissant. His was good, and mine was just okay...it barely had any blueberries!

We finally jumped in the car and started on our way around 9:30AM.

We were using our free entry from our Discovery Cove admission, so I assumed that we had to get into the ticket line and get a ticket. Thanks goodness we only waited 5 minutes or so, because it turns out that we just had to use our Discovery Cove ID cards to get through. After being told that, we walked right up to the turnstiles and made our way inside.

Our first mission was to ride Manta, so we went straight over there.

DSC02563 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02559 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02560 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We had to put everything in a locker before entering the line, so we weren’t able to take photos. Unlike Universal, these lockers cost $.50 for a one time use. The line for this ride is FABULOUS! The theme behind it is the world of the String Ray, and there are some amazing tanks to look at while you wait.

We only waited in line for about 15 minutes until it was our turn to ride. When we got to the front, we saw that there were baskets where you can leave belongings, so I wished I had brought my camera through with me. Next time!

This ride is so unique and incredibly well done. You load into the seats in a seated position. There is a seat belt and a shoulder harness, and also ankle harnesses. When everyone is in, they tip you onto your stomach so that you are face down. Now you are a stingray!

Off we went!! The ride was extremely smooth and SO. MUCH. FUN.!!! There is even a part where you splash into the water. I highly recommend this ride…we can’t wait to ride again next time we go to Sea World!

After our ride, we made our way back to the locker to gather our belongings. There is an aquarium near the Manta coaster, so we decided to walk through to get out of the heat for a while. This was a HOT day!!

I just love rays!!

DSC02564 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02566 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Octopus!

DSC02571 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02572 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I love this next shot. It shows you just how cool this aquarium was! You can see a sea horse in the foreground, and the rays and fish in the back!

DSC02575 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Check out this guy! He is a sea dragon or something…

DSC02577 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

After the aquarium, our next mission was to ride the other roller coaster, Kraken. We walked over there and found that it was down. No problem….Journey to Atlantis, the flume ride, is right across the way!

We got another locker for $.50, put everything in, and headed for Atlantis!

Here is what we were in for:

DSC02581 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

This ride was AMAZING. It was so beautifully themed….I wish I could have taken photos! The flume drop in the above picture was great….but the ride isn’t over after that like you might think. It sure surprised us! I don’t want to give it away for anyone who hasn’t gotten to ride…but let’s just say we got soaked….AFTER the big drop!

When we got off, we walked through the gift shop and I saw the best stuffed animal EVER. A cownose ray! I didn’t end up buying it, but decided I wanted it too late, after we had left Sea World. We checked the shops at the airport, but they didn’t have the one I was looking for. I ended up calling Sea World when we got home and I was able to order one over the phone!

When we got off the ride, Kraken was just opening again, so we got to walk right on!

DSC02582 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Kraken was another smooth coaster…a very good ride! Not as good as Manta, but definitely worth checking out!

With the big rides that we had planned to do out of the way, we spent the rest of our time at Sea World checking out our favorite animals.

We headed toward the dolphins, and got to see the manatees along the way! I just love them!

DSC02583 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We went to the underwater window to see the dolphins next. They were so playful, chasing each other around!

DSC02591 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02596 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02600 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

At this point, we were hot and tired, and had accomplished everything we planned to do for the day. We didn’t feel bad about leaving early because the tickets were included in the price of Discovery Cove, so we started to move toward the exit.

We were quickly distracted from that plan though, when we came across the ray touch pool! We headed immediately to the window to purchase a tray of fish!

DSC02605 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I love feeding rays and could do it all day! I think Ben ended up buying me 3 trays of fish!

DSC02609 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

This has to be the best ray touch pool I’ve ever seen! It’s so big and easy to reach!

DSC02610 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

You don’t have to feed the rays to pet them, so even if you don’t want to pay for fish, get in there!

After spending a good half hour with the rays, we really did make our way to the exit. We saw the flamingos on our way…

DSC02625 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02627 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We intended to make one last stop at the front of the park. I had seen a ray snow globe in the Atlantis gift shop and assumed they would have it in the front of the park at the main gift shop. We looked all around and were sad to see they didn’t have it. Oh well, I didn’t really need it anyway!

We were taking a self portrait in front of the Sea World lighthouse thing in the front as our very last task before leaving…

DSC02635 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

One of the Sea World photographers caught us and offered to take it for us. Of course, with that offer he also took some with his camera and posed us with their form of a magic shot. The guy was so enthusiastic that we just couldn’t say no. Then, the awkwardness happened. He got all excited and said he would go upload them right away so we could see them. We shrugged and though, okay, He went behind the counter where you see your pictures, and when he came out he said wait 15 minutes and we could see them. Sigh. We just wanted to head out and had no intention of buying the pictures! But he was so happy about them! And he was stationed right in the front and there was no way we could leave without him seeing us!

He recommended that we go check out the dolphin nursery while we waited…so we headed that way

DSC02638 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

After we got our fill of checking out the baby dolphins…which were adorable…we headed back to the front. We didn’t really care to see the pictures, but that photographer zeroed right in on us as we walked up, so we had no choice. We looked, said no thanks and thank you, and finally got to leave! I don’t know why these things happen to me!!

We finally made it to the car and started to drive back to the Beach Club. We knew we hadn’t even scratched the surface of Sea World, but we had completed all of our goals and Stormalong Bay was calling our names!

...continued in next post...

...continued from previous post...

After a quick stop for gas, we were on our way. When we got back to the Beach Club, we went straight to the Marketplace for lunch.

Ben chose the cheese flatbread, which he LOVED! In fact, he just saw the photo of it on my screen and he said it looked amazing! I reminded him that he ate it and he wishes he had one right now!

DSC02641 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I had the same turkey sandwich I had the day before, but I had it warm this time. Yum!

DSC02642 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We sat in the little seating area across from the Marketplace. It was such a nice, quiet place to relax and enjoy our food.

DSC02644 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02645 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

For dessert, Ben chose a coconut bar, which was a favorite of ours for the rest of the trip. You know you wish you had that!

DSC02646 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I had this gorgeous red velvet cupcake!

DSC02647 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

It was just okay, but it was so pretty I didn’t care!

After lunch, we headed back up to the room to change, but ended up napping for about a half hour! That bed was calling and we couldn’t resist!

When we woke up, we got changed and headed to the pool at about 3:30PM.

It was crowded at this time of the afternoon, and it was difficult to find a chair. We eventually found one and got settled. Ben joined in with a volleyball game, and I relaxed and watched the pool games that were going on. We also took some time to enjoy the lazy river.

We stayed until the sky started to look like this:

DSC02648 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Those clouds and the wind that picked up seemed like a sign to head inside!

DSC02649 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I was taking too long taking pictures, so Ben started whistling at me to hurry up. This is what he gets for doing that….

DSC02650 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I didn’t stop taking pictures though!

CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Back in the room, Ben jumped in the shower and I settled onto the balcony to enjoy the storm!

DSC02655 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I also enjoyed this rice krispie treat that we had leftover from a meal at some point!

DSC02659 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

When Ben was done, I took my turn in the shower. The shower is probably my only complaint about this room…the showerhead was adjustable, but I couldn’t find a setting I liked and there wasn’t enough pressure for my liking.

We spent some time watching the Olympics, and then left at 8:00PM for our dinner reservation at Via Napoli. We had made this reservation for 8:30PM at 3:00PM on the same day!

Of course, I had to check out the carpet some more as we walked!

DSC02660 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

DSC02661 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

This light fixture was my favorite…I want it in my bathroom!!

DSC02662 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We enjoyed the walk to EPCOT, as usual. I could never get sick of this.

We arrived at Via Napoli at 8:35 and were seated immediately. We got a great table right by the window.

The waiter came over promptly to take our drink orders. I went with a white sangria and Ben got a Coke.

DSC02678 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

While are perused the menu, the couple next to us struck up a conversation. Ben really enjoyed it because it turned into a 20 minute conversation about football while I pretended to be interested. Oh well, he enjoyed it

The couple left just as illuminations started. We were lucky enough to have a great view out our window!

DSC02680 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Our pizza arrived shortly, and it was everything I hoped it would be. DELICOUS!

I got the Piccante:

DSC02677 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

And Ben got the Margherita, which I guess I didn’t take a picture of.

We enjoyed the atmosphere and décor of the restaurant while we ate. It is so pretty in there!

DSC02681 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

I loved these bottles!

DSC02682 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

We took our dessert, tiramisu and zeppoles, to go, and headed out of the restaurant around 9:30PM. We walked through the deserted World Showcase and back to the Beach Club.

Another great light fixture:

DSC02696 by CASDonnelly, on Flickr

Back in the room, we got comfortable and enjoyed the Olympics and our desserts. The zeppoles were SO GOOD! The tiramisu was just okay for me, but I’m not a big fan of it in the first place, so maybe it is just me!

We enjoyed our relaxing evening and hit the sack early to be ready for another day of fun!

I don't know if I've commented on your TR or not, but I have gone through it! You have a lot of really beautiful pictures! I love the Beach Club (hopefully we will stay there one day!). Your dress at the Cali Grill is beautiful :)

All of the food you took pics of looks so yummy! Esp the Piccante :thumbsup2 oh and the cupcake :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Loved the pic of Ben when he started whistling when you were taking pics - that sounds like something my husband would have done :rotfl2:

Finally caught up!! (and really hungry after all these pics!) Your pictures are just fabulous. I love some of these views! The flamingo pic is adorable, too. The Beach Club looks really nice.

Hope you're doing well & have a magical holiday! :thumbsup2
