Can I get from any of the water parks to any of the theme parks? Or, do I have to go back to my resort?
The only theme park which shares bus service to one of the water parks is the Animal Kingdom, since they also drop guests off at Blizzard Beach. Besides that buses that go to Downtown Disney also drop guests off at Typhoon Lagoon. So I would say you need to go back to your Resort when wanting to visit one of the water parks, unless you were in one of the areas I mentioned that share bus service with Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

Your right. I had a question about how to get from AK to Epcot (getting there the fastest way) and it said to take a bus to DTD and then to Epcot. A MOD read my thread and I told her about the transportation section of the boards (not the forum but the section) and she went and checked it out for herself and admitted that it DEF. needs to be updated.

Someone needs to really update that section BADDDDD. I would feel really bad for those who have never been to disney before, saw that section and got to Disney and followed their instructions when its very simple - take a bus from that park to the next.

Its obvious that a whole lot of people dont know how to get around from park to park. Im sure there are a lot of people who go down, especially first timers, who take a resort bus and then take a bus to a park. Maybe Disney needs to set up a ticket station at all parks and DTD. That way in order to get on a bus you have to stop by the ticket counter and then get a ticket that will say AK to Epcot > Board Epcot bus or something like that and then have the drivers take the tickets as they board the bus. They could set up computerized ticket stations all over the park and outside the park by the bus stops that way all they have to do is just touch the screen with their finger the park they wanna go to and prints out a ticket.

Or maybe print the info on the park maps. They could very easily just have one more section on the map with the info how to get from park to park. Or maybe when they check into their hotel for both on and off site have them hand out a broucher or a sheet of paper how to get from park to park.

Just so that you know...even though a moderator knows something needs to be updated, doesn't make it happen. It has to come from a webmaster or such..not something a mod can accomplish.
But heck..with posters like you guys, who needs an updated site? All someone has to do is ask and there will be 6 replies with the answer in an hour or so!!

Yes it is common sense to just look at the signs, but not everyone uses their common sense. I swear some people I meet could fit very well in the military (none of you guys). Hardly anyone uses their common sense in the military and DH is a perfect example sometimes! ;) And the people he works with....yaaa......... But what can I say. Some people go on vacation and their brains stay at home ;) As for asking a CM, whats the point? 1/2 of the time they give you wrong info anyways! :confused3

Or maybe people could just read the clearly labelled signs and follow them directly to the right bus? :confused3 I don't see how it's confusing at all to tell you the truth. By instinct alone, wouldn't people be looking for a sign to direct them and, failing that, wouldn't they just ask a CM?

Really? That hasn't been my experience. I found most CMs to be reasonably knowledge when it comes to basic info.

And if people aren't able to use enough common sense to look for the appropriate signs and follow them, I don't think they'll get a ticketing system for the buses or bother to read the instructions on a map either.

Perfect, that is where I plan on going on a Sat in August, thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

A couple of years ago, because of this same problem (nobody believing there were direct busses between parks, we took pictures of the signs.

Here are most of the signs at the parks showing the bus stops to the other parks. I couldn't find the Epcot picture we took.

If you notice on the TTC sign, there is paint where it used to say "Downtown Disney"

Also, for those that don't remember that TTC meant "Ticket and Transportation Center" in stead of Transportation and Ticket Center(WDW switched it a while back), if you go to bus stop no11 at DHS, the sign still says Ticket and Transportation Center.

Yeah! Thanks for the great transporation pictures! I think this will really help people.

Great information! We are taking our 2 little ones this Aug and I was wondering about bus transportation to other parks. I knew there had to be something! I haven't been to WDW in about 13 years so I remember very little of the layout and we drove and stayed off site and didn't park hop. So this is a great thread!!

I thought the only way to get to MK from Epcot is by monorail. And if you CAN take a bus from epcot to MK, why would you do that when you can just get on the monorail?

Read my later post, I said I meant monorail, had buses on the mind but meant monorail:)

See, this is why I come to the DIS...EVERY DAY! Just when I think I've learned it all, I come across something new. I don't think I knew you could go from park to park. Gonna go look over my itinerary now and see if this new knowledge will impact it at all......

my thoughts exactly! That makes my traveling plans easier but there i figured my dining based on going from a park to a resort to a park sinc i thought we had to do that anyway. Now i have to decide if i want to still eat there or eat in the parks. Thanks for the info!

Maybe people are getting mixed up by the fact that there is no direct transportation from DTD to the parks. You have to go to a resort and then to a park. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

That's probably what it is, BUT, that doesnt give anyone the right to be rude / nasty, and it sounds like they STILL dont believe the person that there is park to park transportation.

I always thought that you had to be staying at a WDW Resort to take advantage of the Busses - is this not true? I always stay off site so I have never even tried to take a bus.

You can use the Disney transportation to hop to another park. For example, you are staying off-site and you park your car at DHS. You can spend a few hours at DHS and then take a bus over to AK for a few hours and then you can take the Disney bus back to DHS to get your car. Anyone can park hop with the Disney bus sytem, even people staying in off-site hotels.

Thanks for that info. I never would have known because I wouldn't have asked anyone.

Wow, I'm amazed at the amount of people that didn't know this info. Thank goodness I found this board before my first trip! (Although, I think I remember reading in the UG about transportation between parks.)

Maybe this should be stickied!
