This Mom Reports: WONDER Mexican Riviera 09/25-10/02/2011 (READY TO VIEW)

Hi, thank you so much for your post! I'm going on the 11/13 sailing with my husband and two daughters (ages 2 and 4). I wondered about the pool situation too, since my 2 year old isn't potty trained. I had a question I was hoping you could answer. Due to my daughters' ages, they won't be able to go in the same kids clubs. Were parents allowed to go with their kids in the clubs? I'm guessing my 4 year old won't want to stay alone (especially without her sister) in the kids club, but I'd like her to participate in some of the activities. Would we be allowed to bring our 2 year old with us to the older club, and all four of us stay? Thanks so much -- this will be our first Disney cruise!

Hello! Yes you can stay w/ your child in the kids club...we sat off to the side sometimes while they had an activity or waited till it was over before having my DD leave. I don't think they had a problem w/ my son either being in there w/ us. We took the stroller in the club a few times w/ him in it.

Your 4 year will have a lot of fun...they really do have a lot of activities & things for them to do. The characters come in a lot & do games or entertainment.

Have a wonderful cruise!

Thanks for the detailed report!

:rotfl: That's about how much booze we'll be bringing on our cruise in December. I didn't know you could buy alcohol at a port and bring it on and drink it on the ship. Thanks for this tip :thumbsup2

netsirkx2 - here is the policy with measurements:

"Alcohol is permitted on board. However, be aware that any fragile items (including bottled alcohol) must be hand-carried on board in a day bag and/or carry-on bag, the dimensions of which cannot exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep. Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area. Guests who arrive in the dining room with a bottle of champagne or wine that has been brought on board will be charged a corking fee of $20.00 per bottle."

how was the kids club my daughter is 3 asnd i am a little nervous about sending her off

I love your report..and all the pictures. I remember our first cruise (was DCL) and my DD was 4. We had dinner at Palo planned. The older boys went to the regular dining room and my DD4 was fussing. My DH picked her up, got her ice cream, brought her to the club and told them we had Palo ressies and they just made a fuss over her. We were so impressed. (Of course, during dinner, I went down to check on her...she was having a blast!) Our last cruise was a mother/daughter cruise and she was 12. The boys are in college. But I just loved that on our very first DCL cruise we couldn't get her out of her Minnie dress the entire cruise ;) :cloud9:

And I brought wine, ready made margaritas and vodka that never opened and I left for our steward.

LOL..I'd love to know what the crew does with all the booze they get from the passengers ;)

MY DD (4.5) really enjoyed the Oceaner Club. She would ask us daily if she could go. They had a lot of activities for them & character appearances along w/ the built in Peter Pan play structure, computer lab, dress up & games going on. She would come back w/ different art projects she had made. She went everyday for about 1-2 hours. I suggest when you arrive on the ship go to the "Open House" they have going on take a tour of the club & show your DD...so she has a heads up what to expect.

BUT now I'm thinking she might be in Flounders Nursary? Is she potty trained? Is she recently 3? I know that one day we were at Flounders for my DS (1) there were parents requesting to have their DS moved into the Oceaner Club because he was on the older side of 3 & they thought the age at the time that was in Flounders was a bit to young for their DS. They did let him move over to Oceaner Club.

Best of luck w/ your DD enjoying the clubs...I'm sure you ALL will have a great time!

PS Don't forget to bring a extra pillow case & have the characters sign it...you turn it into Guest Services & they return it signed on the last night.

MY DD actually was at Pluto’s Slumber party one night & got to color a pillow case w/ Pluto on it so we ended up using that....I got it out of our room w/out her seeing it one day & it was a surprise to her when we came back to our room on the last night....it was laying on our bed.

Thank you! We had a wonderful time...it was "MAGICAL!" :goodvibes We currently are waiting for 2013 Wonder dates to come out & hoping to make this trip every 2 years. The memories Disney has given us w/ the DC & DL are some of the best ones I carry! MY DH actually proposed to me in DL! :)

I WONDER what they do w/ the unopened booze or even the opened? Our steward, said they couldn't take it...but wonder if they do?

I did a pillowcase for my DD too. I ordered it from Etsy with her favourite character embroidered on and her name and the dates and dropped it off at guest services on the first day. Like you said it was in our room on the last evening.

I noticed in one of your photos that the pack and play had a nice cover on it!
When we sailed Sept 20th-25th we had a pack and play, but it never had a nice cover over it! I wonder if this is new since our cruise, or if we just didn't get one, lol.

We just booked a trip on the Wonder for Jan. We have an almost 4 yr old and a very soon to be 1 yr old. You're info is so helpful. Also gave me a lot of great ideas of what I can bring aboard. I was only bringing wine... the list just got longer. LOL

I also love the idea about pillow cases. So much to plan so little time to do it. LOL pirate:

Funny, my friend noticed the pack n play cover pretty fast as well...I thought it was a cute touch! Disney & their details! :)

I'm a total visual person...so since the subject of autography pillow case has been brought up, I thought I'd post the pics of ours. Gives you an idea of what you can expect.

*If you have any other questions..or want to see a certain pic of something...let me know, I'll post what I have!

My DD got the pillow case from the Oceaner Club one night & then I took it to Guest Services. Etsy also has some that can be purchased & personalized.

Just seeing her signed pillow case on the last night:

I will for sure bring the signature matted frames next time...I wish I did this time around (it was our 1st cruise) and wasn't sure how everything worked. I have a few pics of the kids that would have been great in something like this. My DD was surprised...she wasn't sure how it got out of the room...silly kid, Mommy's do magic! :thumbsup2
