This is your birthday song, it isn't very long...... June trip report!!

Yay on getting pics of DH with Mary Poppins! :thumbsup2

That cake sure looks delish!

Mmm the Boma pics are making me hungry! We are going for dinner.

Love the new avator!

I know! I was laughing at him afterwards because he looked so distant from her in both pics! I could tell he felt uncomfortable! :rotfl:

Wow....I just had the rest of the day completed and lost everything:scared1: I have learned my lesson... SUBMIT often instead of waiting until the end! So, with that being said, I am not going to be able to post as much as I thought I would today :sad2:

But, let's move on! So, after a delicious breakfast at Boma we headed to AK to watch the opening ceremony. This was pretty cute! We had never seen it before and it definitely set the mood for a great day! It was short, but worth seeing at least once!
disney082.jpg

Along with everyone else, we headed to EE as soon as the gates opened, but we had to stop for a kodak moment along the way!
disney088.jpg

Once we saw the peak of the mountain I got a little scared
disney089-1.jpg

The line seemed really long, so we decided to get fast passes, but then we noticed how fast the line was moving so opted to just wait it out - glad we did! It ended up only being a 5- 10 minute wait, and it is one of the coolest lines in WDW because of all of the artifacts to look at! We loved the ride as usual! It is one of our favorites!
After EE we rode Dinosaur, another one of DH's favorite rides! You may think we are cruel, but we love riding this to see people's reactions when they get scared! Sometimes we just hang out in the store for a while to watch the pictures from the end of the ride come up on the screen and laugh! I know... so mean :rolleyes1
We still had some time before the GREATEST SHOW EVER, in my opinion, so we did some shopping for our nieces back home and had them sent to our room.
disney094.jpg

And then ran into these "goofy" guys!
disney095.jpg

Yep! I got DH to take another pic with characters :woohoo: He only agreed to it if he did not have to take it alone!
Now, I know you must have an idea about what show I am talking about.... but I think I might surprise you. I am actually not a huge fan of Festival of the Lion King :scared1: In fact, the past 3 or 4 visits we have skipped in completely. However, I am obsessed with... wait for it........ NEMO - THE MUSICAL :yay:. I just can't get enough! The first time we saw this was a few years ago and I made DH find the cd for me as soon as we got home! The funny thing is, I am not even a huge fan of the movie, but I think this show is just amazing! The actors/singers are so talented! We always have to see it twice when we visit! And it makes even more fun since I have the entire thing memorized :goodvibes So, here I am waiting in the theater.
disney096-1.jpg

The show was amazing, as always!

It's horrible when you type a post and then lose it! I always copy and paste it in word before submitting so if there are problems then it's still there - may be worth a shot next time.

On to the update and love the pics. The ones of the parade and Tree of life look awesome! :thumbsup2

Lol at laughing at the reactions of people to Dinosaur - may have to spend some time doing that on our trip!

:woohoo: on getting another pic of DH with the characters!

Right I soo thought FOTLK was what was coming, not Nemo - The Musical! Will have to try and fit both shows into our plans and see what I think and which I prefer.

So, as we exited the NEMO show, these guys were playing "Under the Sea". They were AMAZING! DH is very picky about bands since he is a drummer, but he was really impressed! We stayed for a while and watched. Then, they called me up to sing happy birthday to me.
disney098.jpg

disney099.jpg

We walked around a little bit and then made our way back to the band. There was a group of women listening as well and they were all celebrating their 50th b-day, so he called of us up and had us dance :goodvibes
disney102.jpg

We had never seen Birds of Flight before, so we wanted to check the show out. It was pretty good! I am not a huge bird fan because I grew up with my aunt's macaw in our house and I was always really afraid of it :scared1:. But, the birds in the show were pretty cool!
disney108.jpg

disney109.jpg

Then, we went to Pizzafari to share a pizza. I really don't care for this place, but it is nice and cool and always a good place to take a break. We shared the veggie pizza, a salad and a coke. It was ok. DH liked it better than I did.
disney112.jpg

We hadn't been to Rafiki's Planet Watch in a few years, so we decided to it again. Does anyone else agree that this area could use some excitement? It kind of seems like a waste of time to us.... especially since they got rid of Push, The Talking Trashcan! We loved him! We talked to a CM about why he left RPW, and she informed us that with budget cuts he lost his job a few years ago :sad2:. She said that each week a few people ask about him and she recommended we mention it to guest relations, so we did! Push is still in Tomorrow Land, but we did not see him at all of this trip!:sad2:
Then we used a fastpass for KS and it was a blast! We had a great tour guide which makes all the difference from an OK experience and a fabulous one!
disney123.jpg

disney122.jpg

More tomorrow when we close the 2nd day with DHS!

Things have been crazy with my mom, she never seems to catch a break:confused3 She went in for routine outpatient surgery on her ulcers, and they ended up tearing part of her large intestine! So, needless to say, she had to have another surgery immediately and it could takes weeks for her to even get out of the hospital. I feel so bad for her! :sad2: She has been through a lot regarding her health, and this is just one more thing to add to her pain. We have been up there a lot the past 3 days, so I haven't been updated much!
But, I am detemined to get to the second day finished! So, here we go!
DH loved seeing DHS at night, and because we always have to get there so early to get fastpasses to the rides, we never seem to stay long enough. This time we had it planned out so we could have a relaxing evening at DHS and finally get to see Fantasmic! I know.... we have been so many times and never seen this show! We tried to once, but got rained out.
So, obviously we weren't going to do any of the big rides this late because of the lines, but there is plenty of fun stuff to do around DHS so we didn't have a problem filling our time. First we wanted some dinner... I am sure I many of you will agree with me that DHS has the WORST selection of CS meals! I hate eating at this park! But, we stuck it out and shared some chicken tenders at Backlot Express.
disney124.jpg

The cool thing about this place is that they have a drink station, so we got a refill before we left :)
I was a thespian growing up and loved to perform, so we stopped and watch the Disney Channel show for awhile... well, for as long as DH could stand it! ;)
disney125.jpg

Then we did one of my favorite attractions at DHS - the Art of Animation. I am a terrible artist (my students love to point this out :rotfl:) But, I still think this is so much fun! I feel like I can do my best drawing here because they break it down step by step. But, it is still REALLY bad! :rotfl2
We had actually done Jiminy Cricket before on another trip, but we were happy to learn again.
This one is DH's
disney127.jpg

This one is mine.
disney128.jpg

We finished just in time to catch Beauty and the Beast! I love this show, but i hate watching it in the heat of the day, so we caught the last show and the heat was actually bearable.
disney129.jpg

disney130.jpg

We also had never watched the finale show of AIE, so we were able to do that this time too! And.... I saw a fellow disboarder there! Her DB was one of the singers and I recognized him right away! He came in 2nd, but he was great! I stopped her after the show to tell her I had read her posts and told her I thought her DB did a fabulous job! It was pretty cool! :woohoo:
We couldn't decide what to do for the rest of the night.... We were torn. We are Mavs fans and did not want to miss the game, but we also wanted to see Fantasmic. We decided we needed to be loyal, so we put Fantasmic off, yet AGAIN, and headed to ESPN club to watch the game.
disney132.jpg

disney134.jpg

disney138.jpg

disney141.jpg

This was a fun experience, but the MAVS lost :guilty: We were pleasantly surprised how many more Mavs fans there were than Heat! We thought we might be the only ones! I had a delicious pina colada and very average chips and salsa. DH ordered wings, he ate them all, but said they were a little too slimy for him.
We headed back to the hotel and got some rest before our 3rd day..... FINALLY - MAGIC KINGDOM!!! :yay::love::cool1:

I'm sorry to read about your mum's health - hope she gets better soon :goodvibes

Your drawing is great - being terrible at art as well I hate drawing but if you found the step by step guide helpful maybe my drawing will not look that bad! :rotfl:

Yay on meeting a fellow diser! Hope you get to watch Fantasmic later on in the trip.

I have to say, I LOVE both of your Jiminy Cricket sketches!! They look great!! We also did this class on our last trip and it was so much fun we did it three times with our kids. We drew Mickey, Tigger & Pooh; of course, we have yet to get any of them framed!

I'm enjoying your TR.

I hope your mom recovers quickly, and I'm sorry to hear about it.

I completely agree with you on DHS being the worst on counter service selection. I always eat in the same place because I don't like any of the other selections.

Thanks! They say my mom may be dimissed on Wednesday :cool1:, but it will depend how much she can do by then. She has been running a fever off and on, so they are watching her closely.
Thanks for the compliment on our drawings! It really is a fun thing to do! This time around was really neat because the art teacher had a few minutes left at the end of our class so she asked for volunteers to share their drawings. Some of the people in our class were EXTREMELY talented! It was especially cute when little kids shared theirs and their drawings looked nothing like the character .....Adorable! This is one of those attractions that you come out of saying "We have to do that again before we leave!"
I always wondered if I would ever run into someone I knew through disboards! I was pretty shocked when I saw them! She got a kick out of it too!

I know!!! Art of Animation can be addicting! The anticipation of who you get to draw is enough excitement in itself! I am still wating to draw Mickey, Minnie, or Daisy... maybe oneday?? It was funny, our teacher kept telling us all to have fun and talk, but we were all so focused that no one said a word! I need to learn that teaching technique for my classroom!:rotfl: We ended up doing another class later on in the trip.

Yeah, we are the same way. We always eat at Backlot Express, but I am not a huge fan of chicken, so chicken tenders get old fast. I wish all of the CS spots along Sunset Blvd. were indoors. We don't even look at the menus because we don't want to have to eat in the heat! Where is it that you always eat at DHS?

I always eat at either Backlot Express or Fairfax Fair. The only downside to Fairfax Fair is the outdoor location. Not so great if it's very hot or very cold outside.

We hated putting MK off until the 3rd day, but it made the most sense with our dinner reservation at Ohana' on the same night. If you are like us, you will take anyday you can get at Ohana and build your park schedule around it! There is something about starting your trip seeing this...
disney360-1.jpg

It brings that magic to your trip right at the beginning! But, we learned our lesson! No matter what - ALWAYS visit MK first! Even if just for a few hours!
Something else brings magic to the trip for DH, though. When you see this you will laugh - and I am NOT joking!
disney143.jpg

He loves these donuts! Some people think everyone can get Entenmann's donuts at the store, but we can't seem to find the variety pack which he LOVES  So, we always have to buy some donuts so he can get his fix!
He had a donut while I had a slice of my chocolate bday cake while sitting on the balcony looking at this
disney145.jpg

Then, we hopped on the bus and made it in time to see the opening show at MK! I love this show!
disney146.jpg

disney148.jpg

disney149.jpg

And, the gates finally opened!
disney150.jpg

disney151-1.jpg

We grabbed a FP for SM and then immediately headed for DH's favorite attraction in all of WDW - The Laugh Floor :rotfl2: It's much more fun to see the show with a large crowd, and we noticed the line wasn't very long yet, so we rode IASW to kill some time. We made it back just before they were starting a show with a much bigger crowd :goodvibes
disney154.jpg

We always do this more than once on our visit. It really is a great show! I think DH secretly longs to be "that guy!"
Before we knew it, it was time to ride...
disney155-1.jpg

We had a pretty small breakfast, so we were hungry for lunch early. Our lunch at Columbia Harbor House was probably my favorite CS meal of the trip. We shared fried shrimp, coleslaw, fries and a coke. Man... it was DELICIOUS!There was something about the breading on the shrimp that I just loved! I was talking about hours after we ate!
disney156.jpg

It comes with 10 decent sized shrimp, so it is plenty to share. Although, it was so good I am sure I could have finished it on my own
We were right by the Haunted Mansion, so we rode it next. We both love the detail in this ride. WDW is SOOOO good at detail! They have two lines for this ride now - a scenic line, where you can look at all of the graves, and another line that is a straight shot to the front. They meet up near the door.

Then, against my wishes... we did Tom Sawyer Island. DH likes this ALOT for some reason. I think it is just ok. The line was INSANELY long because we had to wait for the boat to go by. But, we waited, and waited and waited and finally made it!
disney160.jpg

After waiting in that line for so long and walking around in the heat of the afternoon I felt the need for the most refreshing and delicious treat in all of The World.... you guessed it!!! A dole whip :cool1:
disney166.jpg

The line was really long, but SOOOOO worth it! We got the orange and pineapple swirl float. All I can say is WOW!!! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to go back and get another one! DH loved it as well! We had gotten the pineapple float on a previous trip and thought it was good, but this one was AMAZING!

Well, I will end on a high note tonight and dream of dole whips

More to come tomorrow!

I think that every guy wants to be "that guy" during the Laugh Floor. And you are right, it is so much better when you watch it with a large group.

Columbia Harbour House is one of my favorites! Food is always so fresh and tasty.

We have another thing in common besides a shared birthday-my DH is a drummer too! (and I kinda wish I married the singer because it's a pain to load up all those drums at the end of the night ;) )

Great moring at MK! Can't wait to see where the reast of the day leads you!

Love the castle shot! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you had a very productive day at MK.

Okay I have never tried an Entenmann's donut but feel like I have to now! :lmao: Where did you buy them from?

Mmm that dole whip looks great as well! :cloud9:

Hi!!! So happy to have found your report!! We were there at exactly the same time! Happy belated birthday!! You and your DH are ADORABLE!!!! What a cute couple!! Oh and congrats on the NBA Championship!! We're THRILLED you guys won!!! :cool1::thumbsup2

We love Tangierine Cafe too! Such great flavors and big enough portions to share. We share a lot of CS meals as well. Omg we also tried Boma for breakfast this trip and WOW those goat cheese and chive eggs are AMAZING!! AND that chocolate coconut croissant WAS SOO GOOD!! It's so funny you took a pic of just that, because I loved that thing and I don't think I got a pic of it! We also love Columbia Harbour House. They have great food. The fish and chips is awesome.

Can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
