EVEN on the first flight of the day.

I’m just trying to fly home for a few days, so while it’ll be sad if it doesn’t go, I’m not out a lot of money. But.

On the first JetBlue flight to Nashville this morning - scheduled to leave at 7:17. When boarding should have started we got an announcement that the aircraft was out of service (I saw a full compliment of crew at the gate, so I don’t think it is that) and they were trying to find a new one or fix it here. They found a new plane and moved our gate and we would begin boarding “momentarily”.

Well, half an hour later we found out this new plane is out of service. They are trying to get a part on a plane from Boston and JetBlue is saying 9 but gate agent said 9:30.

NOW they just announce that they are working on a new plane and it may be 9:45.

If I were heading for a cruise I would be so stressed. Especially if I made the flight reservation on my own.

I have flown so much in the past three months due to work and have had soooo many delays and even a cancelled flight or two. I think it's way worse now than it ever was before. Multiple times, we've been delayed sitting at a gate waiting for gate crew because the airports are understaffed these days. I agree... never fly in day-of. You just never know how it will go.

Yeah. This one was definitely something mechanical - the flight crew had already headed to the plane at the first gate (I saw them - and it is the crew we have now) and the maintenance crew were all convened on the jetway as we boarded. So in this case they were telling the truth about something mechanical going on.
