This Is The Place For You If You Enjoy Being Last...

Queenie you should get some rest. Although if the DIS is more relaxing, then stick around.
I'm a bit up and down. My head likes lying down but I can't get to sleep...
Although it will feel better lying down it doesn't seem to actually be 'fixing' it though. Which makes me think it's the post lumbar puncture headache. Removal of spinal fluid in many cases results in a headache lasting a few days.
Great for someone with a migraine eh :rotfl2: but my doc (honestly) said coffee can help this particular one so I'm trying that given I can't get to sleep anyway. :confused3
I think pain will make me lie down again soon though...

Skiing and Queenie - I hope you feel better soon.

I swear when it rains it pours! I wanted to have the car checked before driving to Las Vegas in 10 days. Turns out the "noise" I had been hearing since last October was the rear axle and hardware going bad. To the tune of $2,000 bad.

I had mentioned that i wanted to know if it was safe to take across the desert. The service guy recommended we rent a car rather than drive ours.
Thank you
Zoinks about the car!!! Lucky you got it checked out.
As my dad does weekend helping out at a mechanic I tell him any time I hear odd noises and he gets it checked. Hope you can get it fixed while you're away??

Thats why I am renting one to go. Got a great rate. My poor car is 11 yrs old.

Were in Vegas from 5/19-23 and then monterey 23-25

Then we go back to Monterey june 10th.
Hope they are nice trips and you get your reservations sorted. You can get good rates once you're more than a week so I'm sure that's reassuring having that done.

I don't have the money right now. The program I want to enroll in is $37k and I sure as heck don't have that money :lmao: I'd prefer not to take out massive loans, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to in order to finance this.
It is a tough call that :sad2:

Clearly you'll love it and you're good at it so it's a solid investment in a career you want. But it's so hard to try and deal with financing that amount of money. Especially given your college loan history might make it harder? Plus of course your dad

Being able to link Disney in makes it extra special too...
Hope you can work through something.

I couldn't get enough of a signal in band to even load my UserCP. Normally its bad but tonight was pathetic.

It seems like today was the worst day for getting on the boards. So are you going to get the rear axle fixed? Its always a catch 22 with a older car. Our car has 170 thousand miles. I know it will last well into the 2 hundred thousand miles or more. But I still dont like taking it that far.

I got my reservations made. Got a great rate for the vehicle. The only thing that isnt paid is the car rental. I am hoping Monterey is in the works, if not I will have to do it for another city. Long story for that issue.

I really hope you start to feel better soon and the doctors figure out what's wrong

Yeah, no kidding. When I'm bored at work, I sketch cake designs and they've been getting more and more elaborate as time goes on. I just don't know how I'm going to afford it, which is why I'm waiting until next year to apply. I know I can find culinary scholarships and that I'll qualify for $5-6k in grants from the government, it's just a matter of financing the rest. So we'll see what happens with it.

But yeah, being able to do this at Disney would be, like, a dream. I'd love to work at one of their bakeries.

So... Yeah. We'll see what happens.

We're not going to fix it. The car is just old enough that it will start to have all kinds of problems like this. We are crossing our fingers on the sale of another investment by the end of the month, so that we might be able to get a new car sometime soon. But I have another plan that we have put into the works. We go Thursday to test the feasibility of such a plan.

It may make us some money on paper and save us a rental car bill. Plus a shuttle to the airport and put off the need for a new car a few months.

Hopefully you can get a little more distance out of the wheels if all else works out.

At this point, I'm afraid to even take Iago (the Expedition) to DL. However we loaned a good friend a lot of money before he died. His wife has been trying to sell his Excursion for six months, so we might take that in exchange for part of his debt. It's been raised so we would have to see if Fran could even get into the thing. However, he was an Auto Detail mechanic (that's how we met him, he restored two of our classic cars) and became our good friend, so we KNOW it was meticulously maintained.

We'll see how it goes Thursday and if she can even get into the vehicle!

Well that sucks....
:headache:

Where are you staying? We are actually probably leaving on Tuesday afternoon. We have the hotel through Wednesday morning, but there is an event at DL (winemaker dinner) on the 18th, Wednesday night so we decided to just leave late Tuesday and take our time checking out.

We are staying a the Hilton. A little off the strip. David has never been before....So this is part of his Birthday present.
